If he wasn’t lying, I’d honestly think the freedom caucus is right and McCarthy isn’t a Republican after all.
McCarthy has what he wants, he is just trying to hang on to it. Anything he does is to just not get voted out as Speaker. I don’t believe he has any longer term plans than that. Which makes him so dangerous. The Chaos Caucus basically gets whatever they want.
