This doesn’t quite work because one of the four noble truths of Buddhism is literally “there is suffering.”

And the next 3 are the tutorial for ending it ^_^.

(I’m talking on a meme-level of seriousness, I don’t know enough about Buddhism to argue about it).

        Not far off, actually.

        It’s like…

You’re in bed, asleep, super peaceful. it’s great. Then you get shook awake because your parents got you a game for your birthday they think you’ll be stoked about—they’re doing what they think is best, for them. It could be Baldur’s Gate 3, it could be Daikatana, not up to you. But you can rage quit or enjoy it, helping others out on the Steam Community along the way. Once you complete it, you get to go back to bed again. That might be awesome or it might be sad, but the day ends asleep, super peaceful. It’s great.

Then (maybe) you get woken up by your parents that got you a new game for your birthday…

  • I’ve been thinking about UI recently because of BG3 and Starfield.

Larian has a really smart idea with theirs by having a totally different UI when playing with a controller over M&KB. It’s not perfect, but they are so vastly different and perfect for either way you’re controlling. They seem to understand what does and doesn’t work for either way you would play the game.

Then I started playing Starfield and, you know… It’s Bethesda. The UI is what it is in their games, like always. Optimized for controllers, and just controllers. For viewing on a TV and not a small screen. It also was a bit confusing with the 4 square menu, the first thing you see when pressing escape/start. If you have to give me a tutorial on how to navigate your menus: your menus suck.
