Sure is, the problem is that people on the left are very often the ones who are the most against the world being divided in more and more nations, which is the solution to allow countries to get rid of their part that keeps them from moving forward… Just look at a political map of the US and you can clearly see that it needs to be divided in chunks of States.

Just because you look at a black and white map… Or red and blue… it doesn’t tell the whole story. Even in the strongest blue states there is still a significant portion of red voters, and vice versa. If you divide the country up you are dooming countless people to living in a less democratic society. Historically this has happened before, typically due to religion, and as far as I can tell, has never helped. It had bread extremism and regional instability which drags down everyone around you.

If we use the USA as an example, the current system is dragging down the whole country when it comes to human rights, environmental protection, labour laws, social safety nets and so on. It would be bad for the regions where people are the issue at the moment. It would be bad for the progressives living in the conservative regions, but at the same time most of them have the possibility to move out of there, and splitting up would even allow the progressive parts to actually have the resources required to welcome those in need.
