Just a note here, local FOX affiliates like FOX 9 often have very little to do with the cable channel FOX News and are simply local affiliates of the larger FOX network.
FOX 9 is local news for Minneapolis and St. Paul Minnesota. It sort of makes that clear in this Google News image.
A local station being an affiliate of a specific television network is not necessarily indicative of similar politics.
However, that being said, a large majority of local television stations are now owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, who do have similarly shitty politics to FOX News, the cable channel.
Finally, interestingly enough, doing some digging on FOX 9, it turns out its actually one of the small number of local television stations directly owned by FOX corporation, so this station in particular might have politics closer to FOX News, since it’s actually owned by FOX Corporation. According to their corporate site, they own 29 local stations in the US.
This is a nuanced and thoughtful response. I lean towards Fox affiliates being more-likely right wing than not until I see evidence suggesting otherwise, but it’s good to keep an open mind. Thanks!
Same for immigration news. Top results are always Breirtbart, OAN, NewsMax or some other fucked up right wing propaganda machine.
Same on YouTube. They are always trying to push right wing bullcrap on me. Just because I watch Tim Dodd doesn’t mean I want to watch Tim pool.
Yeah, their whole thing is drumming up fear in their base; talking about the sentencing and imprisonment of racial minorities is just gold for them.
Gotta go hard because Minnesota is pretty much the bluest state in the nation. We never voted for Reagan.
