    Wow.

Almost three years into a new console generation, but let’s port it to a 10 year-old console instead.

Well, it does make sense. Xbox consoles already have it through backwards compatibility, porting it to PS4 means PS5 users can also play it. It seems like a straight port, not a remaster.

Which means nothing in terms of graphics or performance improvements.

And no doubt Rockstar/Take Two will ask a premium price for it.

Yeah. I actually like the “cheap” ports to get games onto modern platforms.

I know people wanted RDR1 in the RDR2 engine. And that would be great. But this is closer to a GoG release where it is just “oh, cool. Always wanted to play that”

I prefer RDR1’s more painterly look to RDR2’s more realistic direction anyhow, so as long as the game itself is in a high resolution and runs well then I think itll hold up just fine

Honestly? Same. Outside of stuff like the snowstorm (that was arguably the death of Stadia…), I genuinely think RDR1 running under backwards compatibility on an xbox looks better than RDR2. Fewer polygons and material shaders but the art style is just so much more conducive to breathtaking set pieces.

This could be one step towards that. A PS4 release means it’s been ported to x86 hardware (the 360 did not have x86 hardware and the X1/XSX version is basically emulation with enhancements)
