You know how techbros have this thought terminating cliche about how “they don’t need to be perfect, just better than you?” Well,

This particular deathmobile was stuck behind a truck parked on the side. You know, like what happens in every city. Decides to wait there for 10 minutes. Then it has a change of heart and tries to maneuver out from behind. How does it do this? By doing a 500-point turn resulting in it being lined up perpendicular to the road, blocking all traffic. Another 10 minutes or so. Now it’s decided to make its move. How? Doing a left 270 and running a red light through a busy intersection.

“Through” is the wrong word though, it just stopped in the middle of the intersection and died.

So happy to see this bazingamobile being tested on the civilian population. Place your bets on when it kills its first child!

I believe it has already killed its first child, but that the killing has been covered up

In any case, I am glad you managed to escape with your life brother

Anytime I see a Tesla they’re always driving like a fucking asshole and I’ve learned to give them a wide berth. Almost got rear ended pulling out of a parking spot a couple weeks ago because they were doing 20-25~mph in a parking lot.

The weirdest thing about techbros is their aversion to trains or other public transit options. Like bro, don’t you want your area to look more like an anime? Vancouver and Seattle are taking steps in the right direction at least.

“BUT WHAT IF WEIRD GUY WITH A KNIFE ON MASS TRANSIT” billionaire-tears

I seriously believe that most “spacesteading” fantasies from techbro billionaires are just an extension of their mortal terror of being around the poors.

Like bro, don’t you want your area to look more like an anime?

They want their world to look like an isekai anime where everything is gamified in an easily exploitable way and the “NPCs” exist only to serve them and praise them.

They think public transit is the province of the poors and the homeless and the tweakers. Trust me, I’ve been hearing this shit from fellow suburbanites my whole life. Even if they’ve never once been on a bus, train, or subway.

    WELCOME TO MY WORLD agony-yehaw

Yeah, and that’s the basis of the name of the “LessWrong” cult, too. yea

Imagine taking that dumb “how fast do you need to be to run from a bear” joke and making that your entire ideology.

IIRC the less wrong thing comes from an Asimov essay (EDIT link removed) Asimov essay called “The relativity of wrong”, originally. Of course, the blue curtain enjoyers took in none of the humility and appreciation for those who came before. Shocker.

    Best shot in stopping fascism:

    1. Go to San Francisco with some cameras and mics

    2. Find some Randroid or even some full-blown CHUDs in there

    3. Claim you’re doing it for a show or an interview.

    4. Let them talk, be a little bit of a kissup and they will drop their guard and talk about how they are such geniuses and it’s a shame they are surrounded by idiots.

    5. Sure, they might talk about how they are better than different races, but then they might talk about how they look down on rednecks and blue collar workers. Do NOT punch them in the face, let them brag.

    6. Go to a couple random smaller towns and distribute your “conversations”, showing exactly what the higher ups in the GOP think of their most loyal ‘salt of the earth’ voters.

    7. We get a reverse hard hat revolution just like that.

I live in one such area, where bazinga techbros are a stone’s throw away from full blown flaghumping thumbheaded CHUDs (the latter tends to do HVAC and the like for the former), and I can tell you that while your idea might work elsewhere where I have no experience living there, the CHUDs here revel in their ignorance and make it a cultural signifier. They will outright say “I’m just a dumb redneck” as a conversation starter. It’s that bad, and a lot of them only vaguely dislike their techbro counterparts but it’s for very petty reasons like "acting gay." grill-broke gayroller-2000

there’s a very small proportion of the GOP actually ignorant of the way their leadership feels about the poor. they don’t see themselves as that, or they think they’re the only ‘worthy’ ones, and their lot will be improved if the unworthy poors are oppressed.

I think fanning the flames of class hatred can be a useful part of building class consciousness and a proletarian movement. The left could really use its own version of the “blue-haired SJW” trope, an instantly recognisable caricature of the enemy. Back in the day we had the cigar-smoking porky-happy but nobody looks like that anymore.

What would a modern version of Porky look like?
