On March 24 in Beijing, a delegation from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation held an official meeting with Liu Haixin, head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The meeting took place in the format of a political dialogue and became a key event of the visit.
The parties discussed the state and prospects of inter-party cooperation, as well as topical issues of the international and socio-economic agenda. Liu Haixin noted that Russian-Chinese relations are characterized by a high level of political trust. He emphasized that the ties between the CPC and the KPRF are an important component of bilateral relations and are of a stable, systematic nature.
The Chinese side expressed its readiness for further development of cooperation with the KPRF, including the expansion of high-level contacts, the deepening of experience exchange, and the development of interaction in the field of youth work, women, media, and regions. Special attention was paid to the importance of coordination on international party platforms. Liu Haixin also informed the delegation about the approaches to assessing the effectiveness of personnel and the tasks of the 15th Five-Year Plan, which has begun in China.
Maria Drobot, in turn, stressed that Russian-Chinese relations have reached a high level of development, and the experience of socialist construction in China is of great interest to the KPRF. She noted that the party pays great attention to studying Chinese practices in the fields of economics, science, and state governance, including the implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan. M. Drobot expressed interest in further deepening of inter-party dialogue, the development of theoretical exchange, and the expansion of cooperation in the regional, educational, and economic spheres.
“The KPRF views China’s experience as an important source of theoretical and practical conclusions for the development of socialist ideas in the 21st century,” noted Maria Drobot.
The representative of the Chinese side during the dialogue noted that the Russian delegation’s speech demonstrated a deep understanding of the content and tasks of the 15th Five-Year Plan, which testifies to a serious level of study of the issues and the KPRF’s attentive attitude to the study of China’s development experience.
During the negotiations, the Russian side proposed to consider the possibility of signing a new memorandum on cooperation between the KPRF and the CPC, which would allow to take the interaction to a new level. M. Drobot invited the Chinese side to participate in the international anti-terrorism forum planned by the KPRF in Moscow in May 2026.
Liu Haixin stressed that the CPC views the KPRF as a reliable partner and supports initiatives for the development of cooperation. He noted a high interest in the activities of the Chairman of the Central Committee of the KPRF, Gennady Zyuganov, as well as the similarity of approaches reflected in the party’s program documents. The Chinese side expressed support for the KPRF’s proposals and readiness for their further elaboration.
After this, a meeting of the KPRF delegation with Wang Min, director of the Eurasian Affairs Department of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, took place in the format of an exchange of views on issues of inter-party cooperation and the international agenda.
Maria Drobot outlined the CPRF’s approaches to developing Russian-Chinese relations. Particular attention was paid to the party’s personnel policy, including the leadership training system, the role of Komsomol and Pioneer organizations, and the participation of regional branch first secretaries who had completed relevant party training in the delegation’s work. The party’s ongoing work in preparation for the election campaigns was also highlighted.
First Secretaries of the regional branches of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF): Yevgeny Bessonov, Anatoly Dolgachev, Nikolai Mukhin, Ksenia Aytakova, Elena Kukushkina, as well as Tatyana Skachkova, a representative of the All-Russian Women’s Movement “Hope of Russia,” shared their opinions on possible formats for cooperation between Russia and China.
Maria Drobot also outlined the Communist Party of the Russian Federation’s position on key international issues, emphasizing that the party consistently opposes fascism, Russophobia, and anti-Sovietism. She spoke about the CPRF’s humanitarian activities, including sending convoys to support affected areas, as well as holding international anti-fascist and anti-terrorist forums.
