I’m sorry, I had to rip off another term from Dune. Anyways, enjoy this shitty Komaru mouse art by yours truly:
Well anyways, you may want to ask, what is a Fedaykin?
Well, as you’ve probably gathered from the title, they’re elite soldiers of the red army. I realize now that I’ve never gone into the lore of the red army, so I’m saving that for a later post. But for now, we’re staying focused on the Fedaykin.
Aside from normal Red Army soldiers, there were also dare-to-die corps of volunteers who would perform dangerous missions. Eventually, these groups gathered experience and were reorganized into the Fedaykin, possibly the only military force in the world at the time capable of confrontation with Despair Speakers. Notably, although Duncan Illinois was capable of easily taking on multiple Despair Speakers at once, he never joined the Fedaykin, citing his duties as a general.
Notable members of the Fedaykin include Komaru Naegi, and Natsuki. Because they often dealt with Despair Speakers and other similarly powerful units, they were quite well-equipped from captured Imperium equipment, including Komaru’s iconic long-barreled Imperium lasgun.
Fedaykin first saw combat during the latter half of the Battle of Moscow, when they arrived along with 130 divisions of Red Army reinforcements to aid AGC Kirigiri’s line, proceeding to encircle Miller’s command group. More Fedaykin were present at later battles including the Battle of Hope’s Peak Academy, where they were vital in taking the position that would allow for the destruction of the bridge the Padishah Kaiserin was standing on.
After the war, the Fedaykin remained as highly trained units in various socialist militaries, still existing as of the time of the Second Killing Game.
