It could also be a matter of him not knowing.
Why so quick to single him out as just another “westener in knee deep propaganda” ?
If I recall, he referenced China’s supposed genocide of Uyghurs and implying the surveillance system in China is a part of doing so. So he’s buying into the propoganda that China is genociding Uyghurs, and the notion that China and the US’ surveillance are two equally bad evils.
Yeah, he said more than once in recent videos that a surveillance company from Hong Kong is used to profile Uyghurs, and the implication being that there’s an Uyghur genocide
He seems to be radicalizing based on his shift on how he discusses corporations and the government, but whether he’ll take this as an opportunity to educate himself on politics or history remains to be seen. Unlearning US propaganda takes a while even if he does an honest effort, and lots of right to repair people believe anticommunist propaganda, so we’ll see if he ever gets here.
