We strongly condemn US aggression against Venezuela! We express our strong solidarity with the heroic Venezuelan people!
In the very first days of 2026, President Donald Trump convincingly demonstrated that he is not interested in the Nobel Peace Prize, but in continuing the United States’ historic pursuit of global dominance. Today, the American Air Force launched missile and bomb strikes against Venezuelan air and naval bases, as well as the country’s capital, Caracas. This is an act of armed aggression against an independent state – a member of the United Nations. And this aggression deserves the strongest condemnation as a cynical violation of all principles of international law.
Having played peacemaker in several conflicts that were resolved without his involvement, Mr. Trump now wants to prove himself a “tough guy.” After all, it’s not for nothing that he renamed the US Department of Defense the Department of War.
This was preceded by a prolonged escalation of tensions around Venezuela under the pretext of combating drug smuggling. This campaign was carried out with flagrant violations of maritime law. Even Great Britain, the former “mistress of the seas” and a US ally, was forced to condemn the destruction of vessels on the high seas near the coast of Venezuela solely on the suspicion that they were carrying drugs, as well as the murders of their crews.
In fact, the true reason for the brazen pressure on Venezuela is the desire to overthrow its people’s government led by Hugo Chávez’s loyal ally, President Maduro. In this sense, Mr. Trump is a direct successor to Joe Biden, whom the American leader has mercilessly criticized for his foreign policy mistakes. It was Biden who, for many years, unsuccessfully tried to overthrow the Maduro government. Biden failed, as the people turned against the pro-Western opposition and rallied around President Maduro. Now Mr. Trump is attempting to achieve the same thing through brute military force.
There are other factors underlying US aggression against Venezuela. First and foremost, it is a clear attempt to revive the Monroe Doctrine, adopted 200 years ago—the idea of declaring the American continent a zone closed to European states. Only now, this Doctrine is directed not only against Europeans but also against China, which is successfully developing mutually beneficial trade and economic ties with Latin America.
China is one of the largest consumers of Venezuelan oil. And President Trump is trying to kill two birds with one stone: suppress the freedom-loving people of Venezuela and weaken his competitor on the global economic stage.
Whatever Mr. Trump’s motives, his actions can only be described as imperialism in its most vile and cynical form.
Strongly condemning the barbaric armed aggression of the United States against Venezuela, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation declares its full support for the heroic people of this country, who for many years have waged a persistent struggle against the attempts of American imperialism and hegemony to impose yet another puppet government that would act in the interests of the United States.
We are convinced that this time, too, the attempt to suppress the freedom-loving people of Venezuela will end in utter failure. Latin America is no longer what it was 200 years ago. “Gunboat diplomacy” has long since stopped working. Mr. Trump will soon find out.

I hate to say it, but you have no idea how little people in my country care about anything other than drinking and owning a car that doesn’t even fit on the road. There are maybe 3 actual MLs here in our province and the rest is window dressing that everyone ignores or resents.
Don’t underestimate the potential for solidarity in your country. You never know until you give them the chance.
As an example, check how comrades from the belly of the beast(USA and the EU) were able to build massive solidarity movements for Palestine and also for Venezuela.
People anywhere in the world are capable of solidarity. It is our responsibility to try and organize it into a mobilized movement.
