A federal judge in Florida has set a trial date for next May for former President Donald Trump in a case charging him with illegally retaining hundreds of classified documents.
I am no lawyer, but you can bet the Orange One’s team will try to throw everything AND the kitchen sink to try to delay this until after the general election. If not “wE dIdN’t HaVe EnOuGh TiMe tO vIeW eViDeNcE¡”, it will be something else, and it will be up to Judge Aileen to determine whether the need for delay has merit.
Not the best prospects for swift justice (let alone the delays that dragged it out thus far), but this compromise date by Aileen is better than I think most expected.
