The middle east queer rights and feminism discussion I find is the biggest sign of cognitive dissonance for westerners, even when a country like Iran outright makes being trans legal (although transmedicalist unfortunately) they still don’t believe it or make up another lie like how it’s for making gay people straight even though this decredits the work of Iranian trans right activists.
