God, the more I wardrive that asinine fuckin thread (they are not worth making a lemmy.ml alt to go kick in the teeth by my reckoning), the more it stands out to me how absolutely puerile, idealistic, and frankly, utterly unreliable the western “left” is. These crackers have the WORST martyrdom fetish I’ve ever seen; and as usual, they harp on about “oh wahhhhh, China has billionaires, they’re no AES, they’re catering to the capitalists” when last I knew, the only people to catch death sentences in China have been… Absolutely cashed-up capitalists who got caught on some Amerikan-style skullduggery.

Part of me is convinced the only reason they want China to immediately liquidate all their billionaires, all their capitalists, or at least, as many as could be done away with before capital flight spooked the rest of 'em to the four corners of the world, is so that China’s project could collapse in on itself. For right now, capital is the game that must be played until the entirety of the Settler Empire, from Amerika to Australia, falls in on itself-- and they either don’t realize that, or refuse to see that. To them, if China collapses, they can go right on back to martyrishly (and insincerely) wringing their hands about “ohhhhh, no real AES exists, ohhhhh, wahhhhh” the whole time secure in the fact that the treat dispenser that the white capitalists grease in the blood of the dead stays running.
