We literally see videos of Colombian mercs who went to fight for Ukraine who are now POWs in Russia. It is not at all unlikely that some of these people had prior experience using weapons through working for cartels, and we know that the CIA has deep ties to organized crime all throughout Latin America.

Anyone who tries to conclusively say that Russia is making false claims in this regard is bullshitting. Because how are you going to do disprove such a claim? Do you ask every single merc? Do you ask the CIA? Do you take them at their word? It is obvious to anyone capable of critical thinking that you cannot say Russia “falsely” accused, because you cannot prove it is false.

At most you could say that it is an insufficiently (or only circumstantially) substantiated accusation. The problem is that the circumstantial evidence is pretty strong, there is means, motive and opportunity, and there is also ample precedent of this MO by the US intelligence agencies.

Yup, the elite sicarios from cartels are former GAFEs (mexican SEAL). Some were trained in the school of americas (look up the history of los zetas), so it’s not surprising to see these type of stories.

The international mercenaries or special forces units are violent individuals that fetishize war, of course they eventually join organized crime, the salaries and benefits are much higher there.

We live in a very weird era, in mexican social media it is common to see tiktoks/stories/reels about cartel members throwing opulent parties, shooting guns, doing drugs, etc… and also videos from GAFE/marines/national guard taunting these members, they even engage in the comment section! They even do podcasts ffs.
