we are so spoiled here now, compared to 10 years ago(in the uk) it’s like the golden age. 10 years ago we had no good vegan cheese (cheezly was horrid), there was only really soy milk which I hated on cereal and in coffee to the point I stopped eating cereal and started on black tea and coffee! vege burgers were the beans and rice kind (I still have a soft spot) and Linda McCartney sausages have just been eternally the same! You had to do alot of research to eat out or use happycow and go elsewhere while your friends went somewhere you could only get chips!

Now we have the beyond burger, oat milk, so many vegan restaurants or options that it’s impossible to choose, and vegan blue cheese (“veganzola” is the one!) there’s even ready meals if you are into that sort of thing.

having said that most of the food I cook and rely on isn’t “first” world. Indian, Chinese, middle eastern, african peanut stew! But it’s a privilege to have the choice.
