Medhi was definitely a lover of “both sidesing” everything. Always desperate to appear “non-biased” by throwing leftists under the bus or buying into random manufactured bullshit. He’s a liberal, but if all liberals were like him, US politics would suck far less shit and the world would be better off.

I understand why people to his left, which obviously includes me, dislike him and might “celebrate” him losing his job. This just sucks though, honestly. Despite whatever left punching he engaged in, which let’s be honest is essentially required if you have a job in mainstream media, his segments on reactionaries and most recently his advocacy for Palestinians to be seen as humans was valuable in a sea of almost exclusively center to far right wing propaganda in the US media landscape. Suburban moms only heard Israel was doing bad shit from one guy on MSNBC and now he’s gone. Overall a loss for the pro-Palestinian cause.

The more frustrating (or whatever word) part is he did “everything right” and they still fired his ass (forced him to quit basically) for literally calling out what Israel is factually doing. And he did it in the nicest, softest terms possible. All his liberal leftist demonizing meant nothing in the end. Criticize Israel from a far reaching platform and the pro-Israel crowd will still demand your head no matter your past actions, no matter what boots you licked to prove loyalty, it doesn’t matter to Zionists. They are fanatics and absolutists. You either deepthroat the boot at all times with zero dissent or you are their enemy. Something the Harvard ex-president Gay and now Medhi have learned the hard way.
