The sub didn’t start supporting Russia but many people who did mistook the initial critical support for actual support and stayed. There were plenty of new members and new accounts spamming the subreddit and made it less funny.
What about Iraq was imperialist? Haven’t had coffee yet so my brain isn’t fully functional…

There is nothing similar about this invasion of Ukraine to Iraq. He’s equating Russia’s invasion with the imperialism done by the west over hundreds of years - an absurd stance to make. Scale matters.
Taking no sides except the one of the Ukrainian working class and Russian working class who are affected by the sanctions is the correct stance. But you simply help the primary threat of (real) imperialism (that only comes from the WEST) by equating these invasions.

I think they’re conflating the pan-arab nationalist ambitions of the Baath party with actual imperialism.
