It’s Czechoslovakia 1968 all over again.
Yeah, Russian Federation isn’t communist by any stretch of imagination but you probably don’t want to side with NATO and Azov nazis either.
Anyways, I appreciate the GenZedong position on the Ukraine crisis. Even if there are sometimes extreme positions that amount to non-critical support, it’s a good thing that there is a place on Reddit that doesn’t uncritically accept all the propaganda coming out of Kiev and its NATO allies. It’s great to have alternate viewpoints that are skeptical of the dominant narrative.
Sometimes that means that people are posting Russian propaganda but I think it’s up to each individual to look at information coming from all sides of the conflict and make their own conclusions. Call me a centrist all you want but I believe that the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Also you can be damn sure that the ration of bullshit to reality in genzedong is far, far better than virtually any other political sub. Of course we won’t be right 100% of the time but we do way more due diligence than subs like worldnews and politics

Why is it acceptable for oo-rah marines to use racial slurs and celebrate the murder and rape minorities abroad as normal discourse but unacceptable for a portion of a group of radicals to sometimes provide uncritical support to a minor world power?

We’re not a «Nazi country» one ever said that) but the government sure does carry out policies that Nazis love. Banning minority languages and communist parties is the actions of an ultranationalist government.

Those communist parties you speak of have connections to Russia. Russia is trying to form a puppet regime to reduce the legitimacy of Zelensky’s government. So its pretty understandable. Zelensky bans them because they have ties to russia, and therefore they are potential collaborators.
Also since when did Ukraine ban minority languages?

the 2019 law “Law on Supporting the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language” they banned minority languages in education, business, politics, books, newspapers, television and radio, healthcare, NGOs
Law on Supporting the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language
- Persons from among indigenous peoples and national minorities of Ukraine shall also be
guaranteed the right to study the native language of the respective indigenous people or national
minority of Ukraine at communal secondary general education institutions or via national cultural
societies.
- At the request of occupational (vocational), professional pre-higher and higher education seekers, educational institutions provide opportunities for learning the language of the indigenous people or national minority of Ukraine as a separate discipline

It’s not just Azov tho, there’s a bunch of others like Praviy Sektor, Torpedo and Aydar just to name a few.
As for the parties, it’s interesting how Zelensky banned 11 parties, but Svoboda isn’t one of them.
Idk man a lot of this looks like something Nazis would do.

Zelensky banned 11 parties for having ties to Russia. They are collaborators. Thats why they were banned.
