    Well since the sub didn’t allow free speech and banned everyone who disagrees, as a free speech absolutist, I am happy it got taken down.

      I actually agree with you in this isolated scenario. The hivemind in that sub is rather insane lol. You won’t get banned for disagreeing, but you will certainly get downvoted to hell. I’m speak from experience here

      My issue lies more with the fact that the level of “punishment” for restricting free speech is not equal

      Subreddit A says x, and bans people who disagree

      Subreddit B says y, and bans people who disagree

      For some reason, A recieved a harsher punishment than B. The reason for this certainly isn’t because “Free speech happened”. It was a sarcastic remark

        No further arguments from my side, I think you are completely right and I agree with you. I am a liberal myself and I have no doubt a lot of liberal subreddits do the same to people who disagree, I find it equally cowardice.
