Nom-Nom pinewood is delicious
Maybe some tasty rice. I want to get an instantpot; never had one before but I have heard they are amazing
Some of the devs describe themselves as “communists” and “anarchists”
I genuinely hope you are right that moderating influence can out-influence the echo chamber. I really don’t want Lemmy to go the way of 4chan. Here’s hoping!
I will grant your counterpoint, but my counter-counterpoint is that Lemmy.ml is the devs own instance, isn’t it? Kind of a bad look…
Its getting pretty close my dude. Fascism and racism and qanon stuff is pretty extremist. Communists and anarchists can be pretty weird too.
Extremism can happen on either the right or left
I miss what I lack, but reddit was also going stagnant. Time to build something greater. Decentralized, but moderated, social media is an interesting idea.
Lemmys devs’ political… “Leanings” sure concern me though
I like the website. I like the idea. I like lack of advertising and hyper-paranoia and consumer algorithms.
What I don’t like is some of the devs describing themselves as ‘communists’ and ‘anarchists.’
Extremism is never a good look, and the fact that Lemmys founders are… Definitely tickling that dragons tail is concerning to me
Its not too far off. No, its not like an ISP or a central server, but each instance IS a “provider” of a server and service. It’s not the worst moniker I have heard
Agree on a technical level, but in terms of the average netizen being able to visualize the relationship, “providers” makes it much easier
Oh dear…
First that name. Oh my word. Just no.
Second, pretty much directly encouraging piracy. Just… That’s also a hard no.
Sorry, while the technological concept is interesting for games that don’t have a restrictive license, between a lack of forethought regarding the name and the outright condonment of piracy, I’m gonna have to stay away. If these issues are readdressed in the future, it my be worth re-examining
