I tried to go that route and my TurboTax refund was much bigger than FTU. I wanted to transfer all my answers to FTU, but TurboTax wouldn’t let me go back and look at my individual answers without starting over. Seems like they got wise.
Also not saying whether it’s true or not, but I have a similar reaction to imagery like headless babies, human shields, heads on spikes, etc.
Thank you! I’ll try that out.
Well that’s presumptive. I use a Pixel 7 in a 2022 vehicle. When I plug it in I have to open the USB settings EVERY TIME and switch to MIDI before it recognizes the device. I have bugs with Waze, and my music will pause regularly with no connection issues.
Anecdotally, and unfortunately, I’m the only person I know who stopped using Robinhood after the GME bullshit.
Tangentially related: I read somewhere that Mexico doesn’t invest much in cutting-edge military technology, because their geographic location means they would easily overpower South America, or easily be overpowered by the US. Or maybe that’s not very much related at all…
But does the supply matter if nobody is moving into the luxury apartments?
While I believe all drugs would be safer if they were legalized and regulated, I think your criteria for what constitutes a drug are arbitrary. MDMA has the potential to heal trauma, but it also has the potential to make people do or say things they regret later. Likewise, meth and heroin have a high potential for personal harm, but some people are able to use them safely for long periods of time. I don’t think it’s useful to debate what is and isn’t a drug.
I’m usually not drawn to comedies, but Palm Springs is what came to mind for me. I learned what it means for a screenplay to be “tight” - efficient, cohesive. Every line fits the tone of the movie and moves the plot forward. Plus it’s technically such a beautiful movie. The lighting is warm, the soundtrack is fun, and the chemistry between all the actors is perfect.
I switched to Tidal over a year ago. I thought I would miss SOMETHING about Spotify after 1 year but there’s nothing. The curated playlists are better, my recommended tracks are better, the UI is cleaner and easier to navigate. I actually learn about new genres and musicians that I otherwise wouldn’t have been exposed to. It’s the best.
“I’m a free agent, and I want to do my job for the highest bidder.”
IRS: Guess how much you owe.
Me: $20,000?
IRS: Nope!
Me: Okay how much do I owe?
IRS: You have to guess!
Everyone seems to love Nova, but it’s missing some features I like, i.e. drawers and a text list of all my apps. I’ve been using Action Launcher for as long as I can remember.
UBI wouldn’t aim to get rid of billionaires since they would also receive payments. But it would help get rid of poverty, no?
I’m not an expert on this at all, but my understanding is that “evolutionary advantage” is a misconception. Mutations don’t have a goal, and they don’t always provide an advantage. Hopefully someone smarter than me can explain better.
Edit: spelling
Ooh I just watched The Apartment on Criterion and I loved it. Jack Lemmon is special.
I think about that reality often. How could you ever trust a human again?
What does this mean?
I had a long talk about this with my dad recently. He’s a conservative Catholic, and also a professor of philosophy and ethics. He just could not wrap his head around the idea that someone could commit a crime and not be locked up for it. He believes that justice cannot be served without the perpetrator suffering, or at least being denied their freedom for a period of time. I told him that empirically speaking, that’s not how criminals are reformed, but he was stuck on it.
I’ve never heard of Simplifi, but I’ve been using YNAB for about 10 years. I don’t know what I would do without it. YNAB is the reason I’ve been able to afford all the things that are important to me - vacations, Christmas presents, dates with my partner, random gifts. It’s so valuable to me I would gladly pay twice the subscription price.
