Why am I seeing multiple news reports today about Joe Biden where they remove context to polarize his comments further? This feels, to me, like a new media trend

“Violent protest is not protected — peaceful protest is," the president said. “It’s against the law when violence occurs. Destroying property is not a peaceful protest.”
The president also said “no” to a separate shouted question asking whether he thinks the National Guard should intervene in the campus protests.
The President is condemning violent protest and destruction of property here. It is still disheartening that this hasn’t changed his stance on Israel/Palestine.
Dawson found that individuals with higher cognitive abilities were less likely to fall into “extreme optimism” about their financial futures. In contrast, they were more likely to have realistic or even pessimistic expectations. For example, those with cognitive abilities two standard deviations below the mean exhibited a higher probability of “extreme optimism” compared to those two standard deviations above the mean.
My friends and I enjoy sharing our results with each other every year. IMO the problem arises when results are shared with advertisers or without my knowledge.
I watched a “let’s play” on youtube. The story is interesting, they do have an abusive relationship, and every ending is the “bad end.”
In America the segment for small pickups is larger than you think and cars are overpriced right now which makes a brand new car you can import for less than 15k mind-boggling. Additionally, the barebones nature of the car is appealing for its low-tech nature. Add that it’s a Toyota, known for reliability.
Maybe you don’t see it as a desirable car because it isn’t to your tastes, but the world doesn’t revolve around you.
I wind up getting claustrophobic in briefs and have to adjust a lot more than when I’m in boxers. And I bother with wearing boxers because they are softer than the fabric of the pants I wear.
Mark Rober has a great video on bedbugs: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2JAOTJxYqh8
He finds that Diatomaceous Earth, steam, and heat are the way to go
This is doable but the barrier to entry is high: a large-scale industrial carbon capture machine costs $750 million.
Edit: graphite is used in batteries manufacturing
Then it might not work for your situation. If you do want an EV then you may have to wait until they can improve charge times. Or you may have to run an extension cord or something.
It takes approx 30 min if you use a supercharging station and you’re going from low to full. But EV owners can have the option to charge overnight at home if they have a lvl 2 charging station. So in a work commuter situation you don’t spend the 5 minutes to get gas if you have an EV, but in a cross-country driving scenario it will add time to your trip. Ultimately it comes down to what kind of daily driving you do.
Collapsing entire comment threads. It can be hard to read the top-level comments in each thread when you have to scroll through. Being able to collapse a top-level comment and all replies to that comment in one button press would help with this.
right now, we are so woke in the military we’re losing recruits right and left
Tuberville is blocking military promotions. If officers are not regularly promoted, they are discharged from the military. Tuberville is contributing to the discharge of US military persons and blaming it on “wokeness”.
We’ve got people doing poems on aircraft carriers over the loudspeaker.
Tuberville portrays this as a problem contributing to “wokeness”. As evidenced by this thread, there is a long storied tradition of war poetry. Including famous military persons.
After Ingraham asked, “Could we confidently take on China?” Tuberville replied, “Oh no. Oh no. No, and we’re running Russia into China."
This is false, China is warming to Ukraine. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-09-06/france-sees-china-easing-stance-on-ukraine-before-g-20-summit#xj4y7vzkg
"They’re combining up and now BRICS is very, very concerning to me because they’re controlling all the petroleum in the world.”
Blatantly false. https://investingnews.com/daily/resource-investing/energy-investing/oil-and-gas-investing/top-oil-producing-countries/
Tuberville is either lying or misinformed. Debunking these comments took some minor work and taught me how effective it is to spew bullshit.
If the roles were reversed would you still sarcastically recommend that Tom Wright have a Rudy-Giuliani-back-pat moment?
Edit: I admit that I did not watch the video when I made this comment, which I admit was short-sighted of me. I think the headline for this article is a bit misleading and the real egregious part is the end of the video where he gets in her face and acts menacingly towards her. I think the scandal is justified.
Sure he has some left-leaning guests, but he also claims that January 6th was instigated by the FBI, and pushes an anti-healthcare agenda. The ire he gets is well earned and justified.
Do you really trust someone who took numerous traumatic hits to the head to give solid political and health advice?
I second this suggestion, one of those games where the less you know about it the better
IRS leaders said they collected $38 million in delinquent taxes from more than 175 high-income taxpayers in the past few months.
In one case, an individual had used money owed to the government to buy a Maserati and a Bentley, and roughly 100 high-income people tried to get favorable tax treatment through Puerto Rico without meeting certain tax requirements. Many of those cases are expected to face criminal investigation.
Reading up on him, he has implemented initiatives for employee safety during delivery, improved sorting machines, and implementing a 2 cent increase in the price of forever stamps to try to make the usps service lose less money, all of which I like.
But I do think the USPS not adopting a fleet of electric vehicles a few years back was a mistake.
Anyways, I think he’s a net positive. And Biden can’t remove him directly, he would have to be voted out by a committee board.
