Nice read. No matter how much lightweight software you use, the hardware expectations of the modern web seem to keep increasing.

Not sure what constitutes a lot, but definitely had AUR software. Generally only for things that were not otherwise available
Attentions seeking press conference, probably intended to raise awareness… ugh.
I had no idea furries had been around that long
I know it’s entirely coincidental, but we dealt with a heat-exhaustion-approaching-heat-stroke emergency this week, and it definitely made me pause. Summer heat is taking on a new meaning.
This is the way (dual-wielding). I ran them side by side for a while on the same media, but shutdown my plex instance after a couple of months. I got in the habit of using Infuse for my AppleTV playback, and haven’t bothered to check back in on the official client much. So much this. I suspect there’s an issue around opt out making the platforms less appealing to advertisers. The people with disposable income to spend opting out of ads, might be exactly the ones advertisers want to reach.
I would be really curious if this was the case prior to the advent of smartphones. Was the ratio the same on early USENET or BBS? It’s so much easier to lurk than participate from a smartphone keyboard.
If it works, is safe, and is maintainable, there’s no shame in it. My unraid box has some unorthodox drive mounting too.
