ITT: Europeans tie their personal identity to an arbitrary scale for the expression of mean entropy.
Legolas actually vibrates very very quickly and is therefore performing synthetic aperture Interferometry, multiplying the size of his effective optical aperture.
It depends on the atmosphere. On earth, the average ‘size’ of the atmospheric distortion experienced by a photon over 15 miles would far exceed the angular resolution of any pupil-sized aperture. This is a very simple explanation which groups a number of propagation effects broadly under the term “distortion.” Even without atmospheric distortion, there is a limit to the “information” a given aperture can resolve due to purely thermal noise. In theory, if you have an aperture temperature of absolute zero, the thermal resolution is infinite, but also then there is no process by which information can be generated by an I cident photon.
Meh, it’s depends on what you do. I know several low level C engineers who would be far more comfortable rolling a fresh driver over doing some more abstract intro CS projects.
OP probably means no cult languages
They are definitely in a weird position. On one hand, the current state of internet advertising is horrifying. This has nothing to do with anything Firefox has done. On the other hand, trying to explain to privacy absolutists why these innovations in targeted advertising is actually a revolutionary leap in user privacy, is obviously never going to take.
I don’t know, I am on the fence about the XYT FULLFORGE lithium powered, rechargable electronic kitchen knife I saw on reddit. I just don’t know if I can trust the comments which say it stays sharp forever, and I am very skeptical that it truly has the fastest cutting speed of any knife on the market. Perhaps I will go read the Amazon reviews again to get more information about the patented digital motor design.
Me wondering why the Firefox package archive is suddenly controversial…
does anybody think they’re not trustworthy?
I didn’t until I read that sentence. I actually get what they are trying to do here, but good grief…
This is literally the kids sauna in Scandinavian countries
Nah, we have been in a situation now for a solid 5-6 years where if you can charge at home it is both cheaper and more convenient to commute with an EV, yet the internet is still filled with people convinced it isn’t viable because they make a single 400 miles trip every year
And we are going to look back in ten years and realize that a ton of it was big oil misinformation about EV utility.
Right now, an EV will add around 10 minutes of travel time per 300 miles over an average gas vehicle, and that’s if you are really working hard to minimize stopping time on the ICEV. For most people who can charge at home, this means they will save far more time by not visiting a gas station every two weeks than they will lose on occasional road trips.
Yet if you go to any discussion on the internet, you will see tons of the same shit where people have this mistaken idea that their one 5+ hour trip per year somehow prevents them from having an EV.
Not everyone is an extrovert. Spending hours doing nothing but making small talk is legitimately excruciating for many people, and it has nothing to do with “skills.” Having a premise for social interaction besides “let’s grill each other for hours” is socially inclusive.
After a certain point of familiarity there just isn’t much left to say.
Great so now I will mangle all my merge commits depending on which version the host is using.
Vim is way easier tho
I would definitely wreck myself over anyone in that family.
I am one of the rare people who managed to taper from actual addiction to social drinking. For me it was because I got fat, and then got serious about diet and exercise and then got in shape, and then mostly quit drinking.
Like half the thread, I quit smoking and legitimately feel like it was easy in hindsight. Once I really made up my mind to quit it was not hard. The most difficult part was breaking out of the rituals - smoking in the car, after meals, coffee and a cig…
Honestly I still end up having one every few years when I’m drinking and it’s kind of nice, but I will never go back to being a smoker. Unless I ended up dating a smoker, which I would avoid. Unless they were like really hot. Or rich. I could totally fix them either way
As the movie industry discovered, it’s a dice roll in terms of pissing off the censors. Hard to invest millions when something as stupid as a map can get your game banned.
