Splendid. Not as if I’m a music label or copyright fan, but Elton thinks he can thumb his nose at everyone and perhaps he can’t.

California is full of … people.
“Right to work” as the name of an anti-labor policy sure has a dystopic newspeak feel.
Voting reform is absolutely the key… which is why neither entrenched party will do it, of course.
That’s the problem with this “both sides” take. Yes, there is no true leftist party in the US. They’re both corporatists. The Republicans are undeniably much worse, though. Anti-union, anti other labor rights, oppose every kind of social safety net, want to privatize (loot) and profit from public assets, are thoroughly in favor of racist classist policies of every type imaginable. Some democrats are too, but ALL republicans are like that.
I figured it was a conscious design decision. Maybe it just doesn’t work, idk. It’s kind of nice not seeing them though I am curious sometimes and will look on other instances.
Kbin doesn’t federate downvotes from other instances though, so you can only see the downvotes made through Kbin. I believe for Lemmy, the only way to see the identities of voters is through direct database access. Maybe some third party apps show that though?
It doesn’t look anything like Hitler.
Okay, I looked it up and this is Joachim von Ribbentrop.
That’s Hitler? Am I missing something?
Twitter and reddit both tightened their APIs because they realized the monetary value of the user contributed content. Certainly not that they didn’t want AI to be trained on it, just that they didn’t want to give it away for free.
The recently approved gene therapy for young children with the condition, by the drugmaker Novartis, has a price tag of about $2.1 million for the single-dose treatment.
This is what I have thought when people discuss a cure for type 1 diabetes, MS or Celiac… they’d make it incredibly expensive. Celiac doesn’t make them much money but T1D sure does.
That’s the problem.
It’s confusing to me why people think discord is a good replacement for forums. It’s not even the same paradigm - it’s a chat program. Not being indexed by search engines is a major drawback as well.
Maybe a free and open source forum software. There are a few out there, maybe you used one before.
Why are you posting this on Lemmy and not Discord?
Is a tamale a calzone or sushi?
What are you talking about? The Houthis were already doing this.
the vessel suffered limited damage to a cargo hold but is stable and is heading out of the area
OH SHIT!! US is doomed now
Rancho Cucamonga is actually nicer than the towns east on 10,… Fontana, Rialto, Colton, San Bernardino, Mentone… cheapest places to live in all of Southern California if that says anything. I had a friend who moved in from out of state, got a house in Forest Falls, wife worked in Redlands (towards Riverside) and decided derp, I’m going to rent a workshop in San Bernardino. It wasn’t terrible, it was in this area with a bunch of warehouses like Amazon and Stater Bros, but I like to explore and go to local businesses. I quickly got the idea something fucked up would happen to me if I did that. He just drove there to work and left so he had no problem with the town and thought I was overreacting. Weird shit, like people passed out on the street, guy who threatened me at a taco place, fast food places where they’d look out the window through the blinds when you drive up at night, a shot up giant teddy bear with “fuck12” painted on it, guys who wanted to “wash your wheels” while you were in a restaurant and asked how long you’d be in side, and people walking around in the day with medieval type weapons.
I always thought these trendy tech domains were kind of silly.
That’s essentially what they’ve been trying to do in an extremely incompetent and in effective way for many years now. We’d actually be better off if they explicitly did it 10 years ago.
