Time zones shouldn’t exist. There should just be UTC time and you would go to work at the equivalent of your morning time.
LibreOffice is pretty far from Microsoft Office. Even Google’s suite is more polished. Like it or not, funding behind a project helps build a stronger product.

But Microsoft developed it in the first place. It’s perfectly within their rights to pull it and developers making money off of their work isn’t bad either. I love a good pitchfork to corporate, but this is honestly fine.
I agree with all of that so boycott American and bolster other trade partners. It doesn’t have to be Russia. But buying only European is also not buying non-EU and non-American.
Sure, exclude the tariffs then. How is your mindset different than Trump’s? How is Buy European not the same nationalism? Are you going to boycott services and products from Canada, Central and South America, UK, Africa, etc?
American here. Personally, I disagree with the buy European movement. Getting Americans to buy American is exactly what Trump is doing by establishing tariffs. And if Europe was serious about buying European, then they would establish their own tariffs for non-EU countries. I would much rather see a buy “local” movement that is anti-corp or anti-America and more focusing on building up your local communities.

Where did the Trump reference come from?

Which sentence? A written quote from a verbal conversation without any context? Or your sentence where you said it does not matter what my opinion because I’m not her?

Well, to your point, everyone’s opinion in this post doesn’t matter.

This feels more like she was obviously exaggerating for dramatic effect versus outright lying. In a conversation, I think most would understand that she meant not very much and she was talking about the young adult genre in general.

To be fair, I don’t think she meant it literally. I could definitely see how in a conversation she meant little to none which is true.
Agreed. I think it’s important to differentiate American organizations that are and are not part of the problem.
People have been pushing Matrix and Element over Signal.
Maybe not that much more than it already was, though. And Lemmy is going so far to boycott Signal which has been the golden standard for privacy up to this point. While many European countries are passing anti-encryption policies, we are boycotting US without any strong arguments.
It’s non-US. Honestly, I’m not really on the whole non-US bandwagon. It feels kind of xenophobic and a large blast radius. Even for privacy, non-US isn’t even enough, it needs to be in specific countries.

I thought KDE was the popular choice to be honest. I feel like all the toolp newish OS are using KDE and the top old OS are using Gnome.
Say it a fourth time if you want to continue feigning ignorance. You’re assuming that the only way your credentials could be compromised is if your password manager it compromised. 2FA would not protect that specific use case if you store both authentication methods in your password manager. However, it does still protect your services from other types of compromises, which is better than no 2FA at all.
It does. You need both. Even if you have cookies disabled, Gmail can read all of your emails and use that information.
Lemmy community is even worse because it’s less diverse.
The Reddit bot problem isn’t as prevalent in smaller, non-political subreddit.
Lemmy barely has any communities that aren’t political or tech related.
And most importantly, the NSFW communities are significantly under par.
