  • I’ve also heard great things about Crosscode. I haven’t started it yet (mainly because I’m worried about what it will do to my already flagging productivity), but from what I’ve heard about it, it sounds like it’d fit the bill quite well!

I really enjoyed Death’s Door, which is frequently compared with Tunic. That might be one to check out!

You might also be interested in Supergiant’s older games: Bastion and Transistor. They’re the team behind Hades, but those older games don’t have the same rogue-like elements that Hades does. (They also both have absolutely phenomenal soundtracks by Daren Korb!)

You might also like Divine Divinity (the 21 year old predecessor to the popular Divinity: Original Sin).

  • I got to it via this button at the top of the UI:

It looks to me like your app hasn’t caught up with your subscriptions yet. The first day I used Jerboa nothing showed up in my subscriptions list even though I hit subscribe on a bunch of communities. I went to bed and by the next morning it was working fine:

This is probably one of those “growing pains” things that Lemmy and Jerboa are gonna be going through for a while while the folks behind the scenes get things ironed out. I’d just give it a bit and see if they spontaneously appear tomorrow like mine did.

Edit: you might also want to try force-stopping the app and reloading it? That might force it to pull your subscription data again, idk

If you’d prefer you can probably open a ticket on the jerboa github about it, although I’m sure the developers have a lot of things to work on at the moment so it might not get priority yet.

  • Oh that’s interesting. I have three options: Local, Subscribed, and All

    Image

(I think All shows all posts from instances that are being actively tracked by your home instance, but I’m not sure, it’s kinda hard to tell…)

But to see just one community you should be able to tap on the community name / image and browse just that one, regardless of what instance it’s on. I don’t think you can set a single community as the default view though

I have tried it, and it’s fun while it lasts! I found it very hard to keep my players engaged with the asynchronous sideplay aspect of it.

The experience actually got me to try writing up a set of generic RPG rules that would facilitate asynchronous play better than traditional rules (do a thing, wait, GM tells you to roll, wait, you roll, wait, gm describes the outcome, wait, and finally you can continue). Sadly I didn’t really get anywhere productive with them.

I think that if you have players who are into the concept, and keep interactions that require GM arbitration to a minimum, you could have some success with it.

Yeah I haven’t actually checked, I realized, I’ve just been assuming… Time for a quick experiment methinks!

Edit: I was wrong! I just tested it and it looks like the comments keep their same order regardless of what the drop down is set to! So actually, I have no idea! Sorry! FWIW it looks like the comments are sorted by recency.

I believe the default sort type is “Active,” iirc, and you can change it in your profile settings (top-left hamburger menu, setting, then your profile settings; it’s one of the two drop-down menus)

Edit: at least I’m pretty sure that applies to both posts and comments, although I realize now that I haven’t actually tested that assumption…
