if you’re using the web interface, there should be a little popup when you start typing the community name that will automatically generate the link when you click it
The trend towards ever thinner and lighter devices is stupid. I would much rather have a thicker laptop if it means I get ethernet, multiple usb-A ports, full-size hdmi/displayport, an sdcard reader, and an optical drive, than something that’s ultra thin and sleek but only has a couple usb-C ports and requires a million dongles.
A lot of these aren’t exactly “niche”, but afaik none of them exist on lemmy yet
Edit: for some reason, a bunch of these that actually do exist weren’t showing up in search unless I specifically searched for “!community@instance”. I’ve gone back through and added links to them here.

I use arch btw 😎
But fr, between the regular pacman repos, the aur, and flatpak, I can easily get just about any piece of sofware I could ever want with almost no exceptions. Other distros are definitely getting closer, but it seems like arch has always been the undisputed king here. I also like how rolling release means everything is always up to date and I don’t have to mess with a major “system upgrade” potentially breaking things.
It was the first one I knew about and I haven’t had a reason to switch over. I already knew about lemmy long before all of the reddit drama happened, so that was where I went a few days before the blackout. I had never even heard of kbin until after I’d already been on lemmy for a while. Also, rust > php, and calling communities “magazines” is weird.
