I agree, it should be global by default and changeable per account
seems like a fire hazard no?
if you host that instance on your own ip, yeah.
i knew it!
yep I’m having the same issue, it’s like the comment tree got interveted
using a free VoIP number isn’t an option cause the moment you remove it discord with boot you off again, and keeping it is a huge security risk.
if you’re a new discord account it’s (in my experience) not possible to go without a verified phone number, their system is too sensitive
I’ve gotten this video from here
I don’t get it tho, if a in your eyes good person wrote Lemmy what differences does it make? are the current devs pushing their agenda in the code or whatever? it’s literally all open source
Hey @lesserprophet@lemmy.world , please make sure the video you post is embed-able on the official Lemmy site. Youtube links dont embed as a video but as a link.
is this a public server? would you be at risk of DDoS attacks?
hey @BombOmOm@lemmy.world , twitter links don’t embed on Lemmy (yet). You can download the video with Youtube-DLP or whatever and upload it to a service like https://catbox.moe/ 👍🏻
literally lol, the idea of doing a r/place every year was already really unpopular as there was little cultural change. I wonder if they’re going to do anything unique compared to last time.
this is a bug with jerboa, try using a different app like voyager
you are the goat. thanks for making these banger extensions for youtube
the thing with chromium being everywhere is with the illusion of choice. there’s like 10 major browsers, as a end-user who doesn’t really know any better they might all seem different but in reality theyrall based on chromium, with Firefox being the exception
ngl tbh… just use a better app…
It all just depends on how much you trust the app, and how you’ve set up things when it does go wrong. Not every container needs to be able to access other containers on the system, lan, have access to whatever folder, read/write permissions, etc
A good practice for things like vaultwarden would be to only whitelist the country/state you’re in to minimize your attack profile
fail2ban or crowdsec can also help with all the rats sniffing around
its like uTorrent 2.2.1 but its got no file management features, isnt really stable in my experience and not ready to be used to share videos on Lemmy.
alternative (superior) open source extension: https://github.com/cavi-au/Consent-O-Matic
lemmy world is hosted in Finland. the owner, ruud, is in the Netherlands
