1·6 months agoThat is a terrible idea. Why do you even need to use VSCode on a production server? Use SSH with Termux.

Linux@programming.dev•What problems does Linux have to overcome to get more usersEnglish
8·7 months agoPre installed hardwares. It’s not just about “being easy to use” or “working software X”. 90% of the users are not going to install Linux themselves, because they have no idea that Windows is something that can be replaced like any other softwares.
Even then, they’d not just begrudgingly use Linux because it was preinstalled. They’d find tech support and complain about how everything’s just completely changed and they want their normal PC back.
So no, Linux desktop will stay niche no matter how it gets, at least for a long time. Something as braindead simple as ChromeOS may help though.
God I hate maggot munchers.
Happened to me once. Had a little Pi at my parent’s house and that was a nice excuse to visit them.
In terms of service availability, yes.
In terms of data backup, no.

533·7 months agoBefore anyone says “you put all your eggs in one basket,” let me be clear: I didn’t. I put them in one provider, with what should have been bulletproof redundancy
This shouldn’t happen and the OOP clearly knows what he was doing but putting everything in a single provider with multiple services clearly is not redundancy.
Don’t put them on your dry ass hand and let them be.
