  • I think it’s important to highlight that even us here (hexbear, lemmygrad, etc.) can fall into the trap of quickly judging someone and passing immediate moral judgment without looking at all the other stuff a person does/says. I’ve listened to her more chill podcast where she talks with people who call in (it’s called The Debrief) as well as a decent number of Bad Faith episodes. I get that she worked during the day at the Hill, a right wing media source, but how many leftists have been seen on other “not leftist” media sources such as RT, Al Jazeera, etc. I get the sense that she is definitely more than a “western leftist” and is quite anti-imperialist.

  • I just don’t understand why these people have no interests already? Like why ask people for ideas in what to do who doesn’t know what hiking is? I recommend meetup.com though for sure, there’s also bumble bf and some other apps if ou search that one

But yeah choose thing you like to do—-> apply public/outside/other humans and you can be healthy then

“I just don’t understand why people find it hard to get a job and a car and a house? Just go out there, find one, and save money. It’s sO eAsY!”

With all due respect, get the fuck out with that shit. This is supposed to be a place of support, not judgmental fucking bullshit like you’re spouting.

  • This post was made in the politics comm. If it had been made in /c/vegan or /c/chapotraphouse or /c/chat it would be read differently. In the context of the politics comm it reads as an earnest statement intended to be read at face value. The choice of venue shapes how the message is perceived. The post reads as a political statement that killing bugs reveals a person to have fascist character.

I call complete cap on that. If anything this sounds like you trying to tone police based on “venue” or some ephemeral construct like that. “Oh I support your right to protest but do it in the rIGhT wAy!!” kinda shit. I see posts in all kinds of comms, including this one, that link behaviors with tendencies. Cuz you know, “everything is political” right? But with this all of a sudden come the “rules/regulations” BS? With all due respect, eff off with that shit.

but this is not an appropriate way to present that view.

    Yup white moderate vibes… smh

  • They pretty much tell on themselves here: https://international.dsausa.org/statements/on-russias-invasion-of-ukraine/

They “condemn” Russia. What a joke… No wonder the Global South doesn’t give a shit about the Democratic Sheepherders of America. I didn’t see anything on their site supporting Venezuela, China, DPRK, etc. I only see milquetoast “we stand with the ‘people’ of Venezuela, Cuba, etc.” They’re too chicken to actually support any of the governments in AES countries. They only support “the people” of those countries. What a fucking cop-out scaredy-cat fucking response. That’s like when libs/chuds say “I hate the goverment but support the people!” fucking bullshit. Fuck the DSA. Actually, after seeing those “statements” I’m going to actively tell people I know to stay the fuck away from DSA. They’re waaay worse than I thought.

  • The tendency in DSA is uncritical support of anti-imperialist state or militant action, especially within the international committee which puts out the vast majority of comms on these topics. The “Robin” in this meme, putting forward any formal critique (a fundamental and essential component of practicing Marxism) is very much the minority position.

I’ll believe it when I see it
