  • Just cause 4. I loved fooling around in JC3 and almost 100%ed it a couple of years back, barring some challenges I couldn’t find. I’ve read so much about 4 being a downgrade that i didn’t bother.

I had it on gamepass though and tried it a week ago. The cut scenes are atrocious but the story is compelling enough, and the villains actually seem more interesting. Other than the graphics, the actual art design is pretty good and it’s a good change of pace through a South American setting.

    Edit: pre-coffee words corrected

  • That’s an interesting example. Here in my city there was a case of a transport officer crashing his car into someone. He smelled of alcohol and was slurring and it was in the news cycle with great outrage and irony.

A few days later news broke that he had died of diabetes-related complications. Apparently the smell was not alcohol, it was ketones from him being hyperglycemic.

Going back to your “standards” statement, for an individual it would make sense not to get into a car this person drives. At the same time it makes sense for the court not to convict him until he is proven guilty. Both standards have their place and rightfully so.

  • Not hybrid watches but Garmin watches have a passive LCD screen that is readable under reflected light and the app is excellent, albeit proprietary.

I have a Fossil hybrid and Garmin Instinct and wear the instinct most of the time. I find the Fossil app too basic and it drains battery. I have heard about an open source app that can sync to them however.

  • Some banking apps are not working.

    • Install Magisk
    • Install Magisk Hideprops Config and Universal Safetynet Fix
    • Enable zygisk and add your banking app to the exception list
    • If your app still detects magisk as an app you can ask magisk to hide itself, or create a separate ‘work’ profile using Island (couldn’t figure out how to link it, it’s the app by Oasis Feng on the Play Store).

You’ll need to do reinstall magisk after every system update, doesn’t take too long.

  • Oh that’s what I had to do for my Mi 11x/F3 as well. Good to hear. I remember reading that Xiaomi had gone the way of Samsung and completely stopped official unlocks.

I believe the reason they do this is because some resellers were unlocking the bootloader and installing a ROM with malware and selling that off to unsuspecting customers. This delay (and needing to be registered with a phone number) makes that process both impractical and easy to detect.
