Yes, but it also helps the reader. There’s a reason why literature is written in that way.

I hate that proper syntax is now somehow AI speak.
I think Francesca Albanese is just a reader. Readers tend to know how to write.

YUROP@feddit.org•Supremely based, I declare Sweden the new leader of the Free World
0·6 days agoHardly imperialistic. Sweden’s stance toward Finland and Norway has always been union rather than protectorate. Sweden did hurt its native population in the North and is still not doing a great job on that front, but imperialism is not the word you’re looking for here.
A lot of those people are actually ultra-racist, which is why they emphasize Persian. They hate Iranian Lurs, Balochis, Turks, Arabs, Kurds. They hate their American/Western counterparts too. And don’t gt them started on Black people.
They’re just racists who think they’re the top White race, true Aryans.
Normal Iranians are not like that. Iran is multi-ethnic and multi-cultural by history as well as by its National myth.

Likely lots of people who had contact with Epstein did nothing wrong, at least not on that level.
He was collecting powerful people, in science, business, government, anything. One way to do that is to offer access to other important people. The ability to say to someone “I can connect you with Stephen Hawking” is currency.
The pedophilia ring and sex trafficking is the exact same thing – just a way to appeal to certain people.
I think it’s more interesting to talk about who the fuck gave Epstein a private island in one of the most stupidly expensive spits of sand on the entire planet. Likely the same people who killed him.

1·2 months agoIt’s supposed to be funny.
The political extremes are often more exclusionary and sometimes holier-than-thou, which is why it’s funny to say that you have exclusivity for the Far Left™ label. But as a leftist I also think that property is theft, intellectual property is not proper, hence… propriety.

Essentially he says that natural resources are communal, and are only allowed to be used sustainably. So yeah, bright guy.

13·3 months agoThese pathetic morons think they’ll be safe through this exemption. In reality these deliberate security holes will affect everyone. How will these morons be safe when every person they have contact with IRL is a walking microphone for every foreign intelligence agency?

Nils Bejerot was a total hack. He tried to ban comic books, and later transcribed that same energy in a war on drugs that has resulted in some of the worst health outcomes for drug users in Europe. Unfortunately his ability to be confidently incorrect swayed a lot of gullible rubes, and his legacy still casts a shadow over Sweden to this day.
I mean insulin is about 10x more expensive in the USA compared to other Western countries. It’s cheaper still in lower income countries. Many European countries also have a price ceiling for medication, so your monthly cost for life-saving drugs is capped.
I don’t know exactly why a manufacturer doesn’t set up production for much cheaper generics in the USA, but for whatever reason Americans are getting price gouged like Satan doesn’t believe in tomorrow.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Approximately 1 in 25 Pixel users run GrapheneOS
1·3 months agoYeah I think a lot of Apple users get really attached to their gadgets and want to use them forever. Also, there’s the resale value that helps the kind of customer that wants to buy the new thing every year. So making sure that the products hold up for a long time is probably a really solid strategy for them.

When… when would I ever need Chromium?
