Probably the announcement that student loan payments are resuming.

The prostitution comparison is completely out of left field. You’re implying that sex workers are dishonest, which I don’t see at all. The proposition of a sex worker is very upfront.
Lawyer, salesman, CEO, politician, or advertising exec would all be way better examples of dishonest professions.
Well of course, we wouldn’t want “tyranny of the majority” now would you? /s
Absolutely, if full local control is what you want and you expect to get more devices then it’s worth either reusing an old computer for home assistant or getting a home assistant yellow.
Yeah, I don’t blame you not wanting to commit to a hub if you’d only have this thermostat.
Depending on what features you want maybe you could find an offline one with those features built in. I know there’s ones with schedules and presence detection that are fully offline.
I’ve used this zwave thermostat for a few years now and it’s done fine. Only really makes sense if you already have a Z-wave compatible hub though.
I’ve been switching between my steam deck and my desktop a lot and I thought it was steam sync not working right. Turns out it works but it’s just slow because it’s uploading a massive amount of data
Demonstrating that the bottom 99% has had wages increase 50% since 1979 while inflation has decreased the value of the same currency by 320% is damning. There’s no good defense for capitalism here.
It does match exactly what’s happening though. Others have mentioned housing cost which is a clear example, but you can also look at income inequality. Here’s an article which cites data from the congressional budget office https://inequality.org/facts/income-inequality/
It shows up to 500% growth since 1979 in the earnings of the .01% while the 99% of earners are only making about 50% more than in 1979. That data makes it clear that wealth is being concentrated, and that people at the bottom are going with less. Especially considering inflation since 1979 has been 320% (source)
It’s weird seeing this now because he’s so photogenic my brain immediately goes to ai generated, even though I know this picture has been around since 2012.
I was surprised to see the smogginess in DC last night. It’s gotten even worse today.
From the satellite images it looks like they’re seeing the smoke as far south as North Carolina.
This has been my experience with reddit since it’s so big. It’s been nice to feel like comments I leave here will actually be seen.
They might just have a massive backlog. They’re at the top of the “Suggested instances” section.
TOTK is exactly what I’ve been using it for recently, I’ll definitely give that a shot
I’m using the steam service, even for emulated games. I’ve just added the exe for yuzu (or whatever else I want to stream) as a non-steam game. Sometimes it does just work but the majority of the time I have to fiddle to get it going. It’s definitely better than the steam link days though so hopefully it’ll keep getting smoother over time.
I do this a lot too, have a steam link I used to use all the time before my deck. The latency is not noticable on the same network but there’s a lot of little things that taint the streaming experience for me, never seems to go smoothly. I’m curious if others have that same experience.
I’ve mainly had issues with either the controls not getting passed through, or an issue where the frame rate jumps really high (like 2500) then drops and gets stuck around 20 until I force the deck to update the display’s framerate.
Once I’m in game things are usually fine but getting it goong can be a headache.
I’m running an Ender 3. Although through the 3.5 years I’ve had it it’s had so many parts changed and upgraded it’s turning into a real ship of Theseus. Upgraded the mobo, hotend, direct drive extruder, raspberry pi for octoprint, enclosure, and bltouch for bed leveling.
It’s definitely been a rewarding hobby, learning to use fusion and building things from scratch.
I usually go with the light switch/outlet screw but you said those are covered. There must be grounded metal somewhere in your house. The microwave body, a pipe or faucet, you could even get one of those grounding wrist straps that plug into the ground port on your wall socket.
