  • Hello fellow RX580 owner! I really have no idea why the whole permission thing is happening, the file has 777 perms and is owned by root. The arch wiki thread was the only mention of this problem that I found at all. I am indeed using virt-manager, would I just need to add a RX580 as a PCI host device and run the script after shutting down the vm?

Ps: If I do as mentionned above, I get

Error starting domain: internal error: QEMU unexpectedly closed the monitor (vm='Atlas'): 2024-01-14T19:42:41.288341Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device {"driver":"vfio-pci","host":"0000:03:00.0","id":"hostdev0","bus":"pci.5","addr":"0x0"}: vfio 0000:03:00.0: group 31 is not viable
Please ensure all devices within the iommu_group are bound to their vfio bus driver.

If i do it with 0000:05:00.0, I get a blackscreen as an output. I am pretty sure that 0000:05:00.0 is the unused gpu. How did you identify which gpu is which physically to know which iommu group to pass?
