Huh. Didn’t realize my workplace isn’t actually a hospital.
Idk what to tell ya. My hospital is already using it and it’s one of the biggest hospitals in the region. Maybe your hospital is more hat than cattle as they say around here. Guess you’re not as special as you thought you were
You’re the one who’s lying. Your job ain’t safe and you ain’t special.
Sounds like your hospital is behind the times then. Mine has already been rolling out the tech and holding seminars on how folks don’t need to worry about losing their job. And, I suppose as an EMR analyst you’re fully aware that Epic is working on a natural language interface for querying SlicerDicer so even data analysts will have to go pound sand soon (not saying that’s good btw).

Porn will keep 2D graphic generative AI alive, at least. Image recognition AI is already big business in the medical technology field but no one talks about it because the average person has no use for it/can’t use the products/services that are being sold.
You need to talk to your radiology department then. But as an EMR analyst, I’m guessing you don’t talk to lab techs much.

Image recognition AIs are already paying off, specifically in the medical technology industry. 90% of radiologists are gonna be out of a job within 5 years (just my personal bro take).
The hyper fixation on LLM is silly, it’s just hyped up because it’s something that the average person can play with. But your take on LLMs I agree with. It’s just not the only, or even the actual dominant, AI out there.
It will augment the top 10% of graphic designers. The rest will have to pound sand. I’m not saying that’s good btw. But employers aren’t gonna keep any more designers than they need. The solution to this, of course, would be to have a society where losing one’s job doesn’t condemn you to homelessness and/or crippling debt.
FTFY: “Business models that consists merely of providing an API wrapper around ChatGPT isn’t paying off”.
Good thing that’s not the only fucking use case for AI.
IRL, people are doing some amazing things with generative AI, esp in 2D graphic art.
And that’s without even going into other types of AI which are less flashy because it’s used in settings that most people don’t have a personal use for, such as image recognition.
Not that I’ll miss it but my first student job in college was writing VBscript, so it’s interesting to me personally.
