Frontend?

Frontend?

Their way of doing it honestly makes more sense imo.

I see this the other way around as well.
Aside from the UI being different (I slightly prefer Lemmy’s one) there is a lot of features it has which Lemmy doesn’t.
I don’t see why people call it hard coded when it’s possible to disable. That’s not what hard coded means, it’s just coded.
It lets you browse all the comments for cross posts on the same page.

Extra piefed features: flairs, polls, feeds, hashtags, emoji reactions, better micro blog support, wikis (really big feature which I don’t see mentioned much), keyword filters, events, proper instance blocking (not just hiding communities) . Some apps don’t support all of these yet.
I’m a big fan of lapis. It’s built on openresty, a fork of nginx that embeds luajit into it. This means you can make use of all the features nginx has in your application. It’s really fast in my experience.
I have a medium-ish project written in lapis here: https://codeberg.org/irelephant/kittygram
There isn’t really much of an ecosystem around lua, lapis is really the only “proper” framework. There is stuff like redbean and mako which are cool, but not as complete/friendly to use as lapis imo.
Luarocks can be a bit of a pain as well (make sure to install packages for lua 5.1).
Lapis is made by the same person who made itch.io too, which i think it cool.

Skimming their profile more, they seem to be nuanced about it. They don’t deny the genocide, but they do deny the apartheid in the west bank (???). That’s an interesting take to have while your profile picture is the Israel flag.

I haven’t checked them myself, and I’m not too sure why we let them stick around. Skimming their profile, they’re not even popular in the liberal circles of lemmy.

They quit dbzer0 for a bit over our “zionism is nazism” tagline.

if you crush them, or flatten them, they don’t sting.

Hey, there’s some of that in my garden!
It’s growing right next to some giant hogweed though.

I recently found out you can eat nettles (the ones that sting you), and they actually taste nice.
lots of iron in them

Lemmy.world is 503-ing pretty often as well.

wait, why?

You will receive your execution date shortly.

This made me remember the really good bread subs reddit had, and I found !bready@lemmy.world and !bread@lemmy.ca.

But if you were aware of that and making a joke about how the first words of the different server’s rules were “be constructive” and “nothing positive” then , yeah this is a good joke.
