Ah
I’d guess it should send a “see how I can provide for food even without using money” kind of way?
But yeah it’s stupid

Wouldn’t it be more realistic if Barbie was also Ken? Since most catfishs are dudes going for dudes?
Or is the meme referring to something else?
I was talking about the global 1% since that’s usually what those kind of stats are aimed at
Yeah - everyone is shitting on the top 1% here in Germany until they realize that half the population here makes it into that percentile and suddenly it’s the 0,1% that’s the problem.
It’s all about putting the blame on someone else so you don’t have to question if you might be a little bit responsible, too, with your lifestyle…
Very interesting read

Or use adnauseam and fuck up their ad-tracking infrastructure beyond just blocking the ads
I mean I still have my Gmail account in my mail clients - just every time I get an email on it that’s not spam I go to the account settings and change the mail account there
I haven’t gotten a mail on it in almost a year so I think I’ll unplug it and only login if needed
yeah - they put out statements that they will do everything they can to keep adblockers alive and even implemented a browser-level blocklist for the worst case - but let’s see how that will work once Google starts turning the screws on Chromium tighter
Vivaldi Mobile
Need to update my blocklists though
Something went wrong. Please disable your blocker on AndroidPolice.com
My kind of humour when one of the main reasons for switching to Firefox right now is the adblock
only works with very simple scripts though - I’d assume that checking for a ‘+’ in front of the ‘@’ and removing everything inbetween is very simple if your goal is to spam everyone from a data-leak
Also every bit of atomic energy we use now humans have to pay for for centuries to keep the waste safe
Normally these guys are all about passive income and buying over subscriptions and things like this but if your actions lead to generations having to pay for it suddenly it’s not as bad…
The backups aren’t unless you specifically set it up which I guess most people don’t
What would you expect “-1 month” to do for a date like 31st of March? Would the result be the same as for “-1 month” on 29th of March?
If you go back 2 months so the 31st is existing again - should that mean that the result of using -1 month twice should be different to using -2 months?
I think it’s just a stupid way to implement something like this as “month” isn’t a defined size so defining it with a fixed value and documenting it properly is a decent solution but noone should use that kind of function in the first place
Reddit also doesn’t have one except for the Network-Effect keeping users there.
Sadly some of the more specific subs didn’t migrate to Lemmy :/

Even though I’m probably not reading it enough to be worth it I pay a yearly online-subscription to one of the newspapers that gained my trust with good investigative pieces in the past.
If everyone was just consuming for free then a newspaper needs to either be heavily funded by a really wealthy person that pays them (and in turn makes it less likely that said newspaper will report against people like that) or the newspaper needs to sell ad-space. So if you are consuming for free AND blocking ads on a website then you are only costing that website money - and in case of newspapers that’s not a good thing since it ensures that only those that are publicly funded or funded by billionaires will survive “almost unchanged” while the rest will try to get as populist as possible to the the most amount of clicks to increase their ad-revenue
Of course they would - they need to find an alternative to oil as a sole basis of what’s keeping the country wealthy.
Although I’d say that producing and exporting hydrogen would already be a great alternative that would be basically interchangeable with selling oil and Saudi Arabia has a lot of very sunny land available to produce the energy required
