yeah this is funny

Ahh what an ending! I can’t wait for season 2.
I’m going to start reading the light novels in the meantime.
Is this what they call dislike of your own kind?
Definitely my favourite show of the season. I’m gonna enjoy the manga for sure!
Why change perfection
Yeah this episode explains a lot of Lakan’s earlier actions. He was basically communicating in the only way he knew how. If his family we’re more attentive he might have been better at sensing social cues instead of seeing everyone as game pieces. It’s pretty clear to me at least that he’s not actually incapable of it, he’s just trying to understand something unfamiliar by reframing it in the context of a game.
Ah it all makes sense now. Lakan isn’t a schemer, he’s just bad at expressing himself. Lakan’s reputation as a “genius strategist” is just because of his affinity for Chess and Go but clearly he struggles with more messy human problems.
As an aside, while I know about face-blindness, this makes me curious to look into it in more detail. Intuitively it makes sense that people would focus more on things like tone of voice and body language but I wonder about the nuances.
I feel so bad for Fengxian. Lakan was so focused on enjoying the game that he assumed that things would return to the status quo. It’s no surprise that he got beat with a broom because he must look like a cold-hearted bastard from the outside. He definitely seemed like it in earlier episodes so I really like how the show kind of foreshadowed his true nature with all the hints. Dumbass needs to learn talk-no-jutsu lol
This is such an amazing episode! If it wasn’t already obvious, you don’t need flashy fight scenes to make the show appealing.
Every little detail ties into each other so perfectly, like how we start with a look into how Fern feels about Heiter and her relationship with Frieren.
Then the scene with Serie dismissing human mages because her student detected Frieren’s fluctuation but not Serie’s mana suppression, only to be shattered by Fern.
I love this show so much and I’m going to be so broken up when it ends :(
This episode was soo good it gave me shivers. The animation is pure eye candy as usual, especially with the magic effects during the battle.
The only ones who managed to make Frieren go all out are the Demon King and Fern. That firmly puts Fern far higher than first-class.
Übel is also a fucking amazing character. It’s like she was specced specifically to be perfect for this magic system. Her imagination has no limits and she isn’t bound by inconveniences like “morality.” She’s actually terrifying.
I like the rock-paper-scissors analogy. Considering how many variables are at play in combat, there is simply no straightforward way to rank two mages beyond superficial stats.
ngl I feel like I would also get caught by mimics all the time but unlike Frieren I’d actually die
I got that much. The thing that bugs me is his motive. He’s supposedly a strategist so his moves definitely can’t be random. I don’t think he’s actually after Jinshi and is only targetting Maomao. When Jinshi carried Maomao out after she was injured in that ceremony thing, Lakan had a shocked expression and that’s just giving me mixed signals with how he usually acts. It makes me think he wasn’t directly involved with Suirei’s plot but then it’s even weirder that he didn’t notice anything.
TLDR I feel like all the clues to figure out his goal are right there but I’m just too blind to figure it out.
This was a slower episode but still enjoyable.
It’s pretty funny how jealous Jinshi gets. It’s actually quite cute. Also wow Lihaku is buff. I didn’t really like him much when he was first introduced but he’s really grown on me.
I don’t know what to think of the whole thing with Lakan and Maomao. I might be able to figure it out if I rewatch the show but for now I’m just confused. I actually like that it isn’t too handhold-y with the plot because it makes it that much more fun to try and predict how it’s going to go.
Yep. This is my favourite episode in the entire show. I like how seamlessly the flashback tied into the moment and how it enhanced the scene.
Serie is an intriguing character. It seems like she’s actually proud of how much Flamme accomplished but at the same time I really do believe that Serie trained her on a whim. I think it’s because her expectations were shattered, in that she really wasn’t expecting anything at all. I feel it’s kind of similar in a way to how Frieren seemed so proud of Fern casually being able to kill her, except it’s a more active feeling.
Of course, the fight scene was pure eye candy as usual. The animation is always nice, even in the low action scenes (I mean most of the show is dialogue anyway).
Chaotic Neutral is my favourite gender
This is definitely my favourite anime of the season! I think more shows should start going for an episodic format and try to tell self contained stories even if it connects to the entire season.
Also Lakan confuses me. I thought I figured him out but I’m not sure what to think about his expression at the end.
Also Jinshi sus
IT FINALLY HAPPENED YEEEEEEEEE
The best outcome would be setting a precedent that allows FOSS organisations to send threatening letters to companies that violate the license. An individual dev maintaining a small library may theoretically be able to win a lawsuit, but practically? lmao good luck
If I understand correctly, this applies to users, not just contributors. As a user of the software you are entitled to a copy of the source code.
You’re welcome! Have fun!
I would say that your best bet would be to learn React Native. It’s an excellent option for mobile apps and you can reuse what you learn for a lot of other things as well. It’s super popular so you should find no shortage of resources if you get stuck.
Another option is Flutter. I personally don’t like it too much unless I also intend to target desktop (and even then I’d probably use something else) but it’s fairly popular as well so you should be able to find plenty of learning resources.
Best manga I found this week and the youtube channel is also gold
