We’ll let the guy who considers us to be sub-human and will let Netanayahu do whatever he wants in Gaza lead instead. That’ll show those Democrats!

They’re not a bank, though. Banks are regulated in terms of what assets they keep, and where. We only have Tether’s word.

They claim that 84% of their reserves are held as cash or cash equivalent, with 81% of that in US Treasury notes. Then why do they use some obscure Italian accountant to attest to that? They ought to be able to get a big name firm to attest to having $100 billion in US treasuries.
They also claim to hold 5% of their reserves in Bitcoin, which is 5% too much.
Good. Tether has always been a scammy scam. There are currently 120 billion dollars worth of tether outstanding, which they claim is fully backed by dollars somewhere, but they haven’t been audited by anyone reputable. You would think that if they really had a bank account worth $120 billion, it could be proven rather easily.
Except they were careful and never actually said “we will give you money to vote for Harris/against Trump”. Paying you to call him a human toilet isn’t against that law.
Shit, they found me

I hope her advice is “Don’t do what I did.”
I guarantee that Bitcoin will surge to $125,000 after the election, no matter who wins. I also guarantee that it will dump to $40k after the election.
The trick will be figuring out which comes first.
BoTh SiDeS aRe ThE sAmE???
Isn’t it common knowledge that Netanyahu wants Trump to win? Trump would let him level Gaza and then buy the rubble to build a resort.
Well. Yeah, it all makes sense because the foreign powers who want WWIII the most are all funding him.
In addition to all of the very good advice in this thread, I will add I am a big fan of Dollar Cost Averaging. If you have a large amount to put into the market, don’t put it in to whatever fund you decide all at once, put it in on a monthly basis. This protects you, to some extent, from the market taking a dump the day after you buy, because you are always buying. And your cost at the end is an average of all the times you bought in, and is not so much tied to prices on the day you bought in.
This may involve some planning for moving money around, because you will want to keep the remainder in a good HYSA in the meantime.
A giant leap backwards, to $.33
Hah, I still have some of that. Should probably dump it before someone hacks this wallet.
I’m surprised you are telling us this and not shilling for Monero at the same time…
That Times link now says it was actually Jerry Brown, not Willie Brown, who Trump was in a helicopter with, and it was never in danger of “going down”.
But I guess to Trump, all these Brown people look the same…
How is that easier? Once he nominated, it will be his name appearing on ballots. Are you proposing he instruct his pledged EC electors to vote Harris/$NAME instead of Biden/Harris? That might run afoul of Faithless Elector laws in some states.
New Jersey has no problem with corrupt politicians accepting gold bars as bribes, but supporting someone who can’t stay up past Wheel of Fortune is a bridge too far.
You know, that seems like total bullshit…
… but remember how he started rambling that the Georgia case would be derailed because of the prosecutor’s “boyfriend”, and we all didn’t know what he was talking about, then the story broke and it delayed the trial?
… or, how he kept saying the Supreme Court would bail him out of the NY case, and we all said “That simply can’t happen, it doesn’t work like that”, the the SC releases that ruling last week and now his sentencing is on hold?
The man is obviously plugged in what the Republican Party is doing, he may not be able to string two thoughts together cohesively but he obviously gets good info from more competent people and then we hear it filtered through his mushy brain.
I’ve learned over the years to be very careful with the random shit he says, because sometimes he’s right, if only because the last person he talked to gave him inside info, and he is incapable of keeping his mouth shut.
As a Mets fan, I tried really, really hard to hate the Dodgers, but can’t do it. Ohtani is just a force of nature, he’s that good. Freddie Freeman just isn’t as hateable as, say, Bryce Harper is now or Chase Utley was back in the day. And it’s hard to hate a team that does well when our pitchers keep walking them.
Yes, the Dodgers and Yankees are both buying all the players, but Uncle Steve has all the money, too, so now I can’t legitimately gripe about their large payrolls when the Mets spend just as much on players who aren’t on the team anymore.
I didn’t watch any of it, but I guess I got what I wanted, which is a bunch of sad Yankee fans watching another team win the WS in their Stadium.
