I installed mine during COVID lockdowns - wife got one as a gift for baby shower and we never used it but 2 years later I broke it out during the dark times for toilet paper and it saved our ass, literally. Definitely the best improvement ever, yet some people do feel weird about them, like middle schooler homophobia or some shit

Wouldn’t this just be the default android safety feature that disabled data transfer via cable by default now? You need to enable it each time, and I know testing my phone on Android 13, it prompts me when I plug into my PC via push notification, maybe lineage doesn’t do that

I just moved the icon for lemmy to where rif used to be, and it’s been an almost seamless transition

I expect the exodus to be much less than some others are calling for, only because people are way more stubborn to breaking up with content than the app that serves it

Well that is unfortunate, Waze is a great community that showed what is possible with crowdsourced information and keeping people from getting as many sepeding tickets

The fear of losing what little authority they have is a great motivator.

I think natural engagement will happen but on a less frequent scale. A lot of what had reddit working for them was the bots which would near real time post Twitter links or news stories, which would result in natural discussion threads
