Same here, played the UC SysDef undercover questline yesterday and couldn’t stop playing, so i ended up playing until 3 am lol. The amount of stuff that’s in all those side quests is amazing.

Good luck selling your game if unity asks every distributor to remove your game for copyright infringement.

I’m not saying it’s impossible, you can go ahead and try. But you asked what stops people and the answer is laws. If it was so easy to do what you’re suggesting, then everyone would do it

The thing about unity is that it’s not just a software you use to program the game. When you distribute the game, you also distribute the engine. Since the engine is licensed to you under a special license, distributing it in a way that’s not permitted is copyright infringement. You agree to the license when you use unity, it’s like signing a contract. And if you breach this contract, Unity has all the rights to take legal action against you for profiting off their proprietary engine without paying them.

It also just doesn’t make sense to even try that. If you’re at the point where you’d have to share your profits with unity, your game will be making enough sales that it’s probably big enough for unity to notice it. And if you manage to keep your copyright infringement hidden from them, then your game is probably so small that you wouldn’t be paying anyways.

So yeah, it’s simply illegal, and unity will take legal action if they’re losing out on enough money

Licenses and copyright laws. When you make a game with Unity, you’re using proprietary code from Unity which has a license stating that the free version can only be used under certain circumstances. You’d be braking this license agreement if you distribute a game outside those conditions

On android i got asked if i wanna turn it on upon opening chrome, but since they call it “ad privacy” I can see a lot of people thinking it’s a good thing when in reality it just makes it easier for ads to track you without needing your cookie consent. I do remember though on windows it was a “Hey it’s on now, go to the settings to turn it back off” kind of message

Probably by opening it once, no idea how the app caches images. But it was more of a wild guess for a potential reason why it’s not working rather than a suggestion about what to do. Does it happen with every image or just that one? If it happens with every image then i guess it’s a problem with the app (or your internet connection), if it’s just this one then the image is probably not available anymore and it’s just showing the preview because it cached it before. In that case there’s probably nothing you can do.

I’d assume that the preview image was cached, but the high res version wasn’t. And now the image can’t be loaded but the preview still appears because it’s cached or something

I’m not a 100% on this, but from what i remember, this is technically also not allowed. Something about refusing has to be just as easy as accepting. What is unfortunately not regulated (i’d assume, since nobody does it) is a refuse all option for legitimate interest, so they can give you an option to opt out of all cookies but leave all the legitimate interest options on and you have to turn them off one by one. Worst part is you might not even see that they’re on if you just say refuse all instead of going to the settings
