Interesting. I’m not sure I want fully decaf coffee, but I could see some people might want it.
I metabolize caffeine quickly. So I’m one of those that can drink coffee and it doesn’t affect my sleep. I never get hyped up from it. Never have, even when I first started drinking it. But I am addicted. I get the classic headaches if I don’t have it. So it might be nice to taper off caffeine.
I’m on both beehaw and kbin. I’m still trying to understand kbin. I guess magazines are like communities? But the list of magazines, while long, appears to only be local? How do I see communities on other instances to subscribe to them? Beehaw is more understandable. I can see what instance someone is posting from. I can see and subscribe to communities for other instances. I can select to see all my subscriptions from any instance.
So for now, I’ll keep both my accounts. Let the dust settle. Learn how to drive “this thing” and eventually delete an account from a server that I don’t need. It’ll free up space for someone else.
I’m up 20 pounds after starting a new job 1.5 years ago. It’s much more stressful. Plus, I’m naturally a worrier. Fwiw, I stress eat, but I also boredom eat. Ugh.
I remember years ago when Enron and Worldcom collapsed. People who were retired/nearly retired lost a lifetime of investments. They found themselves on the cusp of their elder years and thrust into poverty overnight.
If (when) the stock market fails everyone is going to be in that same boat because all other avenues of saving money other than shoving it in a mattress or burying it in your yard is ultimately tied up in the market. I have to contribute to a 401k and pension plan to get employer contributions. So instead of a safe CD or savings account…my extra money is “playing” the market. I don’t like this and predict it’s going to get really ugly for lots of folks when finance buckles. I’m 10 years out from retirement and on edge just thinking about this. Then again, I know I won’t be alone.
Thanks for the recommendations. I’ve read Bad Samaritans by Chang and really liked it. So I’ll happily tuck into more of his books. I’ve never read Michael Hudson, so it’s great to have a new voice to listen to. thx again!

Still on 1.1.1 for me. No way am I updating. Thought I bet nintendo will make using the sages easier in an upcoming patch and then I’ll be sweating because I’ll want that, but not want to lose the ability to dupe.
FWIW, I suck at action games, so I have to expend a lot of time upgrading my armor and getting hearts/stamina. So I end up having to grind. I’m not a fan. What’s weird is that I’m finding myself uninterested in building all of the mech that you’re capable of in the game. That surprised me. I thought I’d love it. Instead, I’m finding it fiddly and that it’s slowing me down too much.
Wow. Those are huge subreddits that are now unmoderated. Is Reddit planning on using bots to auto mod these and hope they catch all the spammage?
