For sci-fi, one I haven’t seen mentioned here yet is Red Rising.
Kind of an Enders Game meets Hunger Games in the first book, but quickly expands into a solar-system wide war with lots of intrigue, star-wars-like tech, and amazing characters.
I am really dumb. The link you shared doesn’t show any table like you describe, and no links to the other “parts” out of 13. Can you help me figure this out? The part I can see is pretty helpful!
Is it available right now? What do they call this feature so I can search for it?
This game came out in 2022.
One thing I’ve started to notice in here is a ND person will make some joke based on typical Autistic dry humor (overly literal or pragmatic, etc.) or just putting a light-hearted spin on the situation, and some NT will swoop in to attack that person for “gatekeeping” or “mocking”, not realizing this was an ND attempting some inside humor directed at fellow NDs.
Feels bad finally finding a community where we can safely share our traumas and quirks and insights, and then “allies” feel the need to attack and berate us when we’re just Autistic and just socializing in our weird way.
Please be nice and don’t shame our odd humor. We’re struggling already as-is.
For example, a light-hearted ND joke here, immediately attacked by someone who doesn’t realize this community is exactly where that kind of humor is very common: https://communick.news/comment/316930
I gotchu. I read it literally the way you say at first.
This is exactly the kind of joke I make all the time which is what prompted my friend to ask if I was autistic.
What do you mean by keeping bookmarks? You mean like recording your place in the book so you can continue where you left off? I’m not understanding the benefit of that over a normal paper bookmark?
Anybody have a list of the books and authors they mentioned? Any personal recommendations on which ones to try first?
Hm, interesting. I have been getting better at noticing the buildup to a meltdown, but you are right it’s not perfect. I might ask my doctor if there is something similar I could have in in emergency. Thanks for the tip.
Yep, if you liked the author, Project Hail Mary by the same guy has very similar vibes. Optimistic scientist dude stuck in space using science in creative ways to save the day.
My understanding is most NSFW posts are hidden by default unless you are logged in; if you are just visiting that instance directly and aren’t logged in with an account there and changed your settings to view NSFW content it’s gonna look pretty empty.
Ok so, the instance owner pays them to host, and with that revenue… They pay the instance owner back? Isn’t that just a “discount” with more steps?
What are they getting income from? Are they wanting to run ads on your instance or something?
It’s a newer image file format. You could think of it as a “better” version of a GIF or PNG. It compresses to a smaller file size with better quality, so lots of sites are using it now to speed up image loading without sacrificing quality.
Got myself an sleep mask and weighted blanket for bed. Helps me sleep so much better.
But also, when I notice I’m building up to a meltdown, I tell my wife “I need to hide for a few minutes”, go up to the bedroom, lights off, mask on, weighted blanket on, earbuds in, and just block all stimulation for about 5 minutes. Usually prevents any meltdowns.
Ender 3 V2 Neo. Low cost, good quality, easy to put together, and includes most of the “upgrades” you would usually end up buying separately anyway (auto-leveling, etc.). Good entry-level printer that performs very well and will handle most anything you throw at it (large bulky parts, or small detailed miniatures). May be all you need for a good long while. I’ve had mine printing 2-3 things a week for a year and a half without any issue.
Huh. I can’t find a single book on here of the last 100 i have read. Is this all just self-help books or something?
