  • Ah, but as you say, people only care when they’re “going to” lay in it, meaning they’re not in the bed yet. Once you’re in bed, you pretty much never need to specify the left or right side, you can say “shit, i spilled a drink on your side!”

So, since we only care about left and right sides while we’re not in bed, I say who cares about the in-bed perspective. What matters is how it is oriented while you’re standing up and looking at it. So that’s how I’d assign left and right side.

You did something due to peer pressure at an age when kids are obsessed with fitting in. In the course of doing so, you realized it was wrong and you stopped. Even now, presumably years later, you still feel bad about it. I’d say you’re good, every single one of us has done things (often involving inappropriate actions) we look back on and regret. You’re fine.

My problem with that story is that’s the one time Jesus chose violence, vs the bajillion times he said to love your neighbor and turn the other cheek. But I’ve seen tons of posts by right wingers like “we should kill people we disagree with! Jesus was all about violence, did you hear about the time with the whip!?!?” using it as justification for their hate and totally ignoring all of Jesus’s messages.

I was making some for a while, but I think the hard part is coming up with new ideas for pictures, and also not getting fatigued from looking through hundreds of similar pictures and thinking “is this one the best? Or is this other one sliiightly better?”

  • A view is a saved query that pretends it’s a table. It doesn’t actually store any data. So if you need to query 10 different tables, joining them together and filtering the results specific ways, a view would just be that saved query, so instead of “SELECT * FROM (a big mess of tables)” you can do “SELECT * FROM HandyView”
