Did it go from Linux native to Proton only? Only reason I would think assuming headline is accurate.

Pecan pie, but I never have room to eat it that day.
So I was kinda in the same boat. Used to build a lot, had kids, built less. Finally decided I wanted an AM5. Everything seems good, but all my problems I have and currently have seem to stem from DDR5 ram. Expo seems to have issues sometimes, bios resets ram and takes a while to turn on. Not sure if bad sticks or bad MB, but works 99% of the time, so not overly concerned. Basically saying if you have issues, check ram and ram speeds first.
Edit: and bios. That has updates available often it seems.
Ha! Simpsons is the reason I know this, same as Barney’s (Gumble)
Whoa whoa whoa. This is different. Because it affects me. And I am special. Slashees
They could hash pairs of characters on password creation and store those. Seems like more data points to guess the original password, but maybe the math is hard enough it doesn’t do much.
My first couple things would be to verify the usb cable does data. Some cables are power only, and that obviously won’t work. If you have any other devices you can test with, that’d be great. Like verify an older android phone is seen by the computer with the cable. Other thing would be to change the serial USB settings. Try different data rates like 115200 and 57600. Should be 115200, but who knows if/when Creality changes something.
So I might not be of any help, but probably need more information. Are you running stock or have you made any modifications or using a custom firmware? Are you able to connect via network to Octoprint at least? Try different usb cables?
I’m on kcalc 22.12.3, so maybe something changed. If I click the negative sign after clicking the 8, it works for me. So workflow in science mode: 5 x 10 Xy 8 +/- Enter.
And after typing all this I realize you probably meant using the keyboard. If so, use Backslash after typing the exponent to make it negative.
