I saw them in a store recently and couldn’t resist buying it for that very reason. Is it actually useful or nice to write with? No. Do I regret buying it? Hell no.
@annenas@feddit.nl by night

Couldn’t have said it better myself! Anywho, hope you have a nice day :)
Yep. For me it also matters whether I’m using my beehive account or my feddit.nl (much smaller instance) account. Guess it’s just part of the federated part, but it’s a bit annoying all the same
Thank you for sharing :)
I guess it’s easy to get sucked in the whole “I’m anonymous so I can do what I want without repercussions” thing and just become downright nasty towards people you don’t agree with (for some people at least). Ironically, at the same time you’ll quickly be downvoted into oblivion if your opinion is a little controversial. I’m sorry to hear you (and the stranger they thought was you for that matter) were on the receiving end of it. It’s something I certainly won’t miss from some subs…
But hey, I’m a pacifist by nature and prefer knowing why people think things rather than just telling them their opinions are wrong. So what do I know :')
Would you mind elaborating on this a bit or linking to documentation that explains this in more detail? It seems that unless I visit any thread on its own instance, I’m not getting the actual number of upvotes and/or comments. Waiting and checking back doesn’t seem to solve it (double checked on a post I checked about 4 hours ago, still can’t see the full thing), so maybe it helps if I know what’s going on exactly.
I had never even heard about the Boston Bombings till now (or I don’t remember it, not an American), but damn, that whole situation got all kinds of messed up. I can understand wanting the perpetrators being brought to justice, but slandering random people who bear a minor resemblance to a suspect makes no sense to me.
Out of curiosity, how should the admins have reacted the witch-hunts in your opinion? I’ve never really used the old frontpage or r/popular so I’m not very familiar with how their usage would be affected tbh.
Wait, what? I somehow managed to miss that apparently. Pretty sad all the same :/
Thanks for the tip for the data request! Did that just now (:
I’ve put all my saved posts and comments in a notes file in preparation and have deleted an alt account. But I think I might keep my main a bit until my most niche subs have transferred (if they’ll transfer at all). Once Apollo stops working I’ll no longer be going to reddit on my phone in any case.
From my experience with people that are very pro Android vs the pro iOS crowd, it’s just that they’re trying to justify their own choice by uplifting the OS they chose and sometimes tend to focus only on the negatives of the other OS. The same can be said for the various desktop OS crowds.
I’ve used both Android and iOS, as well as Windows and MacOS (and intend to try Linux at some point) over the years and I never thought one was generally better than the other. All these OSs have different target users and that’s ok. Just because you’re not the target user for OS A, doesn’t mean that OS B is objectively the best OS for everyone. It’s just the best OS for you. And why people feel the need to bash other people’s choices or even make fun of them for it is beyond me.
