  • And they are labelled Russian bots by… Israeli bots.

It’s so obvious, it’s actually insane.

In the real world, the progressive, educated people are all against the genocide, but the politicians and the media (including social media) are so obviously censoring, it’s insane.

I placed a comment on reddit that Netanyahu was the one opposing the ceasefire. Something that is even reported by mainstream media.

I got told I was wrong and Hamas is to blame and I got -50 votes in a few minutes, in a comment thread that was 4 layers from the top on an article that didn’t even hit the frontpage.

If it wasn’t bots, it would go maybe -2 or +4 and probably less than 50 people would have ever even seen the comment.

But they are just monitoring anything that mentions keywords like Netanyahu and then the bots immediately act.

When I place similar comments and use csfire, nyahoo and Hgroup the bots don’t find it and the voting remains normal.

The way you (and others in this sub) approach it is very all-or-nothing and very ineffective.

We should say, “thanks Lizzy for speaking up, we appreciate you and we would ask you to support an arms embargo so that our tax money doesn’t go towards killing innocent children”.

This is exactly what the more effective anti-genocide activists are doing.

When have politicians ever done something that wasn’t for optics?

To get change requires positive reinforcement. Next time, she might go a step further. Every time she says something, some in her audience get the chance to realize that it’s not anti-semitic to condemn the killing of children.

This is why AIPAC didn’t want any Palestinian speaking at the DNC and why they spent millions against Bowman and Bush. Because they don’t want to normalize criticism of Israel.

That’s the current door that needs to be opened wide in the mainstream.

To get change, critical mass is needed.

I even applaud Candace Owens and Dan Bilzerian for speaking out, even though I don’t agree with them on anything else.

    I fully agree.

The only way to get more people to support Palestine is if people who currently support Israel change.

And that was and is true for every improvement in the world.

Not saying Elizabeth Warren should be free of criticism, but at least give her the tiniest amount of credit when she does take a step in the right direction.

    At least she condemned it.

I have to confess, some of us are a little bit slow to learn. When Aron Bushnell immolated himself in protest, I thought it was an overreaction.

But now I know, and I am happy Elizabeth Warren is speaking out, because we need more people with power to see the reality and make it stop.

  • US support will slow down towards 2050.

And not just direct support for Israel, but also the billions being spent to pay off Egypt and Jordan.

Younger people aren’t supportive of Israel and the dependency on oil will lessen year by year, while climate change will wreck the region. Ultimately, oil is what drives US interest in the region.

So no, I doubt whether Israel as a nation will reach the 100 year mark and it definitely will not surpass the 192 years that the Kingdom of Jerusalem lasted.

The only way they survive as a nation is through peace with their neighbors and they basically don’t have peace with any neighbor, aside from the ones being bribed/threatened by the USA.

That said, for the current generation of Palestinians, things look really bad. It’s nauseating how they are being massacred.

  • Supporters of Bush and Bowman now face a strange incentive.

If they vote for Latimer and Bell, they will only embolden AIPAC and corporate America to use the same playbook in the districts of other progressive Democrats. And they will have them as incumbents in 2026.

If they do a protest vote (third party, write-in or stay home), that sends a clear message, but also gives the Republicans a +1.

On the face it, it would suck if the Republicans win their district, but also consider that a Republican win will (a) ensure Democrats field a progressive in 2026 and (b) show both Democrats and Republicans that the progressive vote is powerful and can be courted.

So it might actually be a good strategy. Look at 2016. Yeah, four years of Trump sucked, but it also made Democrats realize they had to court their progressive win. Corporate Hilary just couldn’t win without them.

Knowing this, there is also a Dark Brandon, scorched earth, move available: Vote directly for the Republican and give them a +2.

This will show progressives know how to yield their voting power and that they should be taken seriously as a group.

  • Honestly, they almost all support the genocide and they all want war with Lebanon and Iran. The only Democrats opposing it are getting primaried hard.

The USA must have greenlighted the attack on Haniyeh, and very likely also helped carry it out.

So yeah, I get you. If I were American, I would probably still vote for Kamala, but it’s all very Orwellian.
