help-circle

  • Garuda is lovely in theory, with all the cool following features: infinite health, infinite energy, forced slash on any weapon, easy infinitely scaling damage, can fly using an ability loop, tonnes of iframes, one of the best (imo) melee weapons in the game.

I’d probably main her if not for how she actually is when you play her. Her pseudo-excalted claws take up far too much screen space, and can’t be used on melee sorties. Also you can’t change their skin, so tennogen is hampered if you’re into that. Given so much of her kit is % scaling, she only needs a little strength, and massive range. Yet you’re still often finding yourself out of range, with no other option than to just die, or ignore her kit entirely. And whilst her 4 mostly works with the default cone targeting, the augment mod making it hit in a circle makes the ability actually feel good to press. Even if the range of the ability now feels very small.

Still, she’s probably still my favourite frame for actually “trying”. All her synergies can be combo’d infinitely, but leave little downtime. Alt tabbing to search up a song, reply to a message, or do anything else is a death sentence. Comparatively I could just play Valkyr for mostly the same melee experience, and have the safety of her 4 to brain afk the entire map.

  • Only semi-major change imo is the pet rework, scanning else comes naturally in missions. Even then, the pet rework is just that sentinels respawn, and all pet types get some cool new mods.

Later in the story, you can unlock weapons that transform, incarnons, and they are currently the meta. How much you wanna gun for them is up to you, as you can do everything without them.

  • I’m a bit scared of the general chats to be honest, as they got a really bad rep back on the other Warframe community social media thing.

As for the weapon idea, it may be fun, I’ve got both Aklex- and Akvasto Prime lying around, and they’re kinda hot garbage without having invested any significant amount of forma into them. Could probably be fun to make them handle non-sp missions.

Level cap is something I wanna do, but I guess it’s hard to find people with the lfg chat turned off. Could be I should turn it on again, or look in a discord.

And lastly, I do like the idea of collecting, but it seems kinda insurmountable, even though I have a lot of stuff. Funnily enough helped a friend of mine get every mod and every arcane like two weeks back, so I know it’s doable. Said friend does also sit on 60k plat though, so he’s got a slightly easier time than me :p

Valkyr is one of my friend’s main frame, and it’s always fun to see him slide attack and rip line through the map faster than I can parkour. He’s MR8, and likely will stay that way forever, but don’t let that fool you if you ever see him. Content, no matter how easy or hard, all gets reduced to trying to keep up with that spinning top of death, who already completed the objective and is at extraction before the last guy made it out of the spawn room.

Semi-joking about friends aside, Valkyr is an awesome, yet often undervalued frame, and easily one of the strongest and most versatile frames.

Her passive is honestly one of my favourite quality of life things, and I’m happy we got a mod that replicates it, so I can do dumb stuff occasionally, and not be punished with a hard landing animation.

Rip Line trivialises rooms that otherwise requires more than a single bullet jump to get through. It feels almost as fast as Zephyr’s 1 at times, and to me is much more fun than going spoiler mode and void slinging past the parkour rooms I’m slow at.

Warcry takes any awful weapon and makes it workable, if not directly fun, with an argument for easy infinite duration. Honestly, there isn’t a singular weapon in the game where you’d go “You know, I feel like this is the perfect amount of speed, more would ruin it” (Except some throwables, but you don’t use them for the melee anyway).

Paralysis… At least you can put something useful there with helminth.

Hysteria is well… It’s meme(ing) strike from the days of old, but I honestly kinda liked that play style. Smack some corrosive on the claws, and they take out any steel path enemy comfortably. If you want to make it really dumb, slot Shattering Impact instead, and you’ve got a passive full armour strip that works on everything. The energy requirements can get a bit silly, but we’ve got a lot of ways to deal with that now.

And unlike the other murder mayhem frame, Garuda, you get to actually equip a melee weapon in addition to your perfectly balanced IPS claws. Something I’m very jealous of, as Garuda’s claws are neither a proper melee (in melee only sorties) nor an ability, so they sometimes just end up taking all your screen space when aiming.

  • Since the level squish, you level up a lot faster than you’re used to. As most people will say, the real part of the game is the endgame, or at least things you can do at max level.

Gear will mostly come from quests whilst leveling, and somewhat sporadically at that. You could run dungeons for more gear, but you’ll mostly end up getting the same slots over and over if you do. It’s a part of the game that still really feels unpolished.

Good-ish news about professions though! You level them per expansion now. That means that you no longer have to do old content for drops to DE, for example. Instead, once you hit max, you can just learn the latest expansion’s version on top, and not bother with having to catch up.
