I’m in way over my head as it is. I can’t even imagine what it would be like having to be responsible for some gremlins, as well. I’m reasonably sure this is not entirely correct. My understanding is that a replicator works similar to a transporter, in that it turns pure energy into matter according to a known pattern.

Don’t hate me, but I like Cyberpunk 2077. It may have had its problems at launch, and I heard people were promised all kinds of stuff that was not delived, or was delivered only much later, but I never listen to hype anyway. I’ve played this for many hours. There are great mods for that game that make it even better, and it has such cool characters, such a fascinating world, good music, great design, the combat is fun… I love it.

China heavily subsidizes EV manufacturers (and production in general), plus they have cheaper environmental and labour standards… it’s not like there’s a fair market EU companies can compete in without some sort of handicap.

Hah. Volkswagen is in trouble right now because they fucked up the transition to electric cars completly. What do you think will happen now? That’s right, we the (German) people will have to save them now, with our money. Basically the same shit as a subsidy, just later in the process. There are different kinds of wasps. Where I live, out of the many many kinds, only two are annoying in that they are aggressive and try to get your food. All others are chill and will leave you alone if you leave them alone. We had a nest outside our house one year. Often times, our paths would cross. A wasp would collide with us, just sit there in the air for a second, then fly around us. No time to chat, gotta get food for the hive. Also: bees and bumblebees will just take the day off if the weather is shitty. Wasps? MUST GET MORE FOOD. Hailstorm? Tornado? Lightning strikes five yards away? No excuse.

If you’re already working 40 hours a week, focusing on stuff out of hours is going to be hard. I know this all too well!

I was thinking more along the lines of ‘nightshift’. 😀

There are a lot of jobs that require out of hours support, specifically those that aren’t tied to business hours. In tech at least, many of the sites and services you use are built off the backs of software engineers that are paged at 5am because latency is a little higher than normal.

There is a very easy solution to this dilemma: pay someone to stand ready at off-hours.

They are still using Reddit, so one has to wonder if they have not abandoned sanity and intellect a long time ago.
